Saw them last night in Bristol. They played non-stop for two and a half hours. Dick Taylor is 70 but plays with the energy of a man half that age. The whole band are amazing and took me right back to my youth!

One of the tunes I danced to so very long ago. For Jackie, Kitt, Andy and the rest of all my old friends in London. Cheers - W in The States

Not too sure about the myths surrounding Robert Johnson and the Crossroads. But I hope Dick Taylor and his guitar live forever.

THE REAL BEATLES! And if you don't know what i mean, or cannot get to that. You are probably just to square for your own good. "Nothing Else Is Cool!" The Pretty Things touring now to celebrate 50 years of Madness Mahem and Music. Do not miss this opportunity it might never come again. The Beatles catch phrase was Yeah Yeah Yeah. The Pretty Things catch phrase is OH NOOOOOOooooo..... Need i say more?

Duh.No. I am saying the Pretty Things are Cool. And in the milieu of the times it was very uplifting having a band around who are so honest and bullshit free. It still is. Perhaps the Beatles as a Band collapsed into Negativity. Possibly because they could afford to. The Pretty Things have always been 'starving artists by comparison and it has only made them stronger and their body of work speaks for itself. There is not a more upbeat optimistic bunch then the Pretty Things. Pure Joy!

Shame that the original drummer, rhythm guitarist and bassist (if they are alive of course, and I know at least John Stax is..) couldn't join Phil and Dick rather than have replacements who are only a third of their age, even though they play the parts well. Guess i'm too nostalgic and purist, lol.

Drummer Skip Alan had to step away due to health reasons. Bassist Stax and rhythm guitarist Brian Pendleton (RIP) left at the end of 1966 and were replaced by Wally Waller and Jon Povey -- if you know the Pretties you know those two names, they were key to SF Sorrow and Parachute and the 1990s comeback. As to the guys up there on stage now guitarist Frank Holland has been in the band since 1989, so over 30 years. Waller and Povey also had to step away around 2010 for health and family reasons. No band stays the same for 50 years. They still do a great job.
