There was the same 1977 Opel Isuzu that was on the Money Game 15 days before. $4,073 was the price.

I thought ‘TPIR’ was only a 30 minute show until the eighties

It became a full hr in 1975. They did an experimental week earlier that year and it was such a success they made it permanent. there was a 30 minute version that aired at the same time as this one in syndication which ran from 1972 to 1980.

You're probably thinking of the nighttime/syndicated version which was on the air at time, which in fact has always been just a half hour.

@@pannoni8449 I thought it was the morning version that started off thirty minutes but was expanded to an hour in the early eighties.

Nice vid, but aspect ratio could be made a lot more accurate, for historical accuracy sake. Everything is way too squished and tall

Also my guess for the last 2 Numbers in the Price of that 2nd Car seen here would have been 1 of the following 3. 1: 26 2: 92 3: 53

Are you saying the incorrect aspect ratio made it harder for you to see she actually won with '26'?

And my guess for the 2nd number for the price of the car in the 3 Strikes game is "0". The aspect ratio might be clouding my judgment, though

The Price Is Right has gotta be the longest running game show in history, right? I don't mean in terms of years on the air, I mean how long each episode is. I'll see an episode come on, I'll go down to the store and buy a whole new dinette set, come back and they're just getting to Showcase Showdown.

There was a two-hour long episode for its 50th anniversary in primetime. Sure, there been many more hourlong game shows ever since, especially in primetime, but this was the first successful hourlong show to succeed, and although Wheel and the Hollywood Squares experimented with hour formats, you didn't have a mildly successful hour show until MGHS, and then Family (Feud) Challenge in the '90s (both on CBS, SYN, and that Family Channel show).
