If you're not lazy about buying your Tacoma, you can still find a deal, but not in your crowded metropolis where the shortages are evident. I just flew 800 miles from Orange County, CA to a rural dealer to pick up my 2021 4x4 TRD Offroad. With taxes and fees I paid the sticker price out the door. That computes to 10% below MSRP for the truck alone, and about $3,000 less than any deal I was offered in busy SoCal. After paying $500 for my flight ticket and gas to drive home, I saved $2,500 and had a nice drive home exploring parts of the country I've not seen before. And to top it off, my loan's APR is 2.29% for 60 mo, compared to 2.9% offered in OC. Seriously, why would you not want to save money and enjoy a nice drive to break in your vehicle?

Just no leverage to negotiate in such a high demand/low supply market. Of course lowest price is best but I was totally satisfied as it already had full ceramic tint, predator side steps, Bakflip trifold tonneau cover, hitch/ball, etc. Great truck, unbeatable resale value. Problem with long loan periods such as 7 years is that everyone says they’ll pay it off before hand but most do not and you end up paying more for the car in interest. You do get the flexibility of lower payments if you lose your job to ease the burden, but you have to be ok knowing you may owe more in the end if you don’t pay it off early.

I bought a brand new Tacoma in 2017. I have a Standard 6-Spd TRD Off-Road. Very Similar Amenities otherwise and the price back then per sticker was $34,893. Similar on fees and taxes. (Toyota Escondido) If the interest rates are super low (which they are) then I don’t fault the 84 month payments but I opted for 60 months at 1.9%. I actually just paid off the Tacoma at 42,832 miles. It has been a terrific truck. I hope your Tacoma treats you just as well. Good Video Man 🤙🏼

I would have walked away. Any dealer asking more then msrp is gonna never get my business. I walked away 1 time before when a dealer wanted more then msrp. Trucks are way over priced to begin with. Lots of other truck makers out there. But you did what u felt u had to do to get ur truck. Hope it last a long time with no problems.

I just got my 2021 sport 4x4 with the XP package for 38k otd, and a "lifetime" power train warranty. I went to every dealer in my town (5 of them) and this one was the best deal I could find

I got a 21 trd off-road 4x4 for 40k otd but I carried 4K of negative equity on my truck and some say the dealer was still being generous with my trade in.
@carlospina66043 жыл бұрын
The XP stands for the maverik or predator? It's all about exterior equipment. This price probably didn't include the Technology Package +, right ? Even without that, it is a great price. I paid $39,5 for my 4x4 TRD Sport DCSB - with the tech package, just a month ago, then added the clear bra, added the Clazzio leather seat covers, and ordered my truck bed camper shell (leer 100R with rack). It gets expensive. I still want the side step-bars.

I bought a 21 double cab TRD sport 4x4 w/ 5ft bed. Didn’t pay any markup and managed to get out the door, w/sales tax for 40k. Dealer didn’t really want to deal but didn’t try to jam me with stuff I didn’t want. I’m not unhappy with my deal as I wanted a new tacoma
@Callmebigwilly3 жыл бұрын
In California they charge and arm and leg for trucks compared to most other states. For the Toyota trucks especially the Tundra/Tacoma TRD Pros expect an additional dealer markup of 5-10k. So 60-65K for these trucks is common.

Props for being transparent. Hopefully this video will be seen by other people as what NOT to do, not for justification to do it too. Using other people's money is only good if it's an investment that goes UP! Instead of using leverage to boost your financial position, you willing placed yourself in a financial prison for 7 years. Now the best "investment" you can make is paying down your debt as fast as possible so you don't end up paying over $50,000 (plus whatever your down payment and/or trade-in was) for a V6 truck built in Mexico.

I just found your channel and like your content and transparency. Thank you for sharing this information, I'm looking to purchase the same Tacoma model you just purchased (TRD Off Road Long Bed). I live in Arizona so I'm hoping to pay less without those California fees.

For some reason, CA Toyota dealers do not usually negotiate 4Runner or tacoma TRD models. They say too popular and hard to find and usually up the price too.

That is why I still have my 2014 Tacoma TRD Off Road with 4 liter engine and 6 speed manual. They just don’t build them any better and the new cost is sky high. Cost new then was $33,900 back then. I bought it through the Toyota finance and can’t remember the interest. Seems it was 4% something.

You were lucky to get that 6ft bed on an Off-road and not pay that $3,000 markup. I live in Cali too... the dealer refused to negotiate or take off the $3k on the same TRD 6ft model. Said they knew they would sell it with the markup, and didn’t care. I ended up with 2021 Limited Nightshade loaded with options. Negotiated price down a bit and received another $1,000 in incentives. I did the 5yrs @ 1.90% Then I installed the TRD performance exhaust, TRD skid plate, TRD shift knob, S&B Cold Air intake, and Predator rails myself. I will add custom tires, shocks and springs much later down the road.

The only discount dealership allows is the Costco auto program discount. I just bought my 2021 TRD off road 6 ft bed. I got $1200 Costco discount. Plus $500 Toyota rebate and $500 college grad rebate.

Your decision really makes sense. Better to have extra money in the pocket than be tied up on a car payment that we know the car will just depreciate overtime.

Love this video because you put how much you paid. First of all damn... The truck looks amazing, but holy moly are cars so expensive. A little mini truck be over $40k is just insane.
@carlospina66043 жыл бұрын
"holy molly" you are absolutely correct, cars are insanely expensive. This is called "INFLATION". We are heading into it for sure. So it's time to invest in consumables that can be liquidated if you need to. A car should not be considered an investment because it is a liability usually and loses value rapidly.... except when you buy a Tacoma, Land Cruiser, 4Runner in that direction. You have to drive something anyway. You might as well drive it in style and something that has a bit better chance riding that inflation wave than a VW or a Ford or worse, a Hyundai.
@liko0983 жыл бұрын
@@carlospina6604 I know what inflation is, but the way cars have gone up on prices is just insane. Everything has gone up, but like cars have dramatically gone up in a very high level that is insane. Like a Tacoma $45k MSRP is just plain insane. Cars were more affordable before now its getting impossible to buy a new car.

It's great to know that I've got some options. Planning on getting a 2021 4runner trd premium and think of doing a 6 years loan. I might consider the 7 years loan. I won't know for sure until I go check it out next weekend. If I decide to get it, most likely it'll be a 6 years loan. And I also have really good credit score, so I'm the apr should be in those area.
