Why are there a lot of rude comments comparing them to Tachibana? I'm a fan of Tachibana too, but there is no need to be rude to another hard-working band just because they don't dance while performing. You can think KT is better, but that does not mean this band is automatically bad. Also, in other videos posted of KT's performance, you can see members of this band cheering on Tachibana! They seemed excited to see KT perform, and were kind and gracious. There is no purpose in being rude to other bands just for the sake of Tachibana!
@monjiji-we9dw7dh4m3 жыл бұрын
You're right. When we are in the United States, this big organization seems to be the correct answer. Perhaps even in Japan, if such a band appears before a big game and plays with each other, there are many people who are more motivated. The comparison with KT is completely different, so it's wild. From Japan.

@@DespressoPlays I'm curious, what were guys in your band thinking when they marched by during their review? What I would have given to be a fly on the wall on some of those conversations. It seemed like some of your percussionists were caught up in the show and stopped setting up. lol And nothing to take away from any band. All the bands that go to the rose parade are deserving, and to only put tachibana on the pedestal is a disservice to anyone who learns an instrument. The struggles are real for everyone and nothing comes easy, we just see the final product.
respect for all bands, but after the japanese band its hard for them !! the big difference for me is that they are too static. the movements are less good and they do not dance like the Japanese. but bravo to them !!

@@otto7848 People also forget that Tachibana has come prepared with a heavily practiced show, easy drill, easy colorguard choreography, and etc. They are obviously amazing, but I think everyone comparing them to bands with 8:00 shows with hard shows with hard drill, decent choreography, more people, and a stronger focus on repretoire is kind of unfair.

The Oklahoma "College" marching band didn't deserve to win. Any good sport will cheer on their competition. Tyoto Tachibana SHS Band was amazing and Oklahoma didn't even applaud at the end to be good sports. How rude. Oklahoma will never be winners in my eyes. What kind of sportsmanship is the Oklahoma band director teaching the band..? When other bands are great.. You cheer, then you go out on the field and give it your best.
@rdkuless5 жыл бұрын
@Kim Namjoon For President Your comment is very nescient. My high school marching band took first place (all 4 years in a row) when i was in high school. My stage band were state champions, we took first place at every festival we attended. The reason I love marching band and stage band was because our director always insisted on us cheering on everyone who competed. He led by example. Our 120 piece marching band always gave a standing ovation for every performance from the competition. We were great because of integrity, technique, and sportsmanship. Tachibana SHS Band has been invited all over the world because they are captivating, exciting and technically brilliant. Kim we differ in opinions. But i certainly understand what it takes to be a part of a large, creative and technically brilliant marching band. i wish you much good luck in your future performances. Sportsmanship goes a really long way in making winners. It feels really good to cheer for people you compete with. And i'm sure you can understand this concept. PEACE.

@Rob K I was a member of the Pride when we performed this show. We weren't there to compete. We were there as entertainment for the crowd. ALSO, we stood on the sidewalk behind the field waiting for our turn to perform in awe of the Tyoto Tachibana SHS band. We knew they were better than us but it didn't matter because we weren't competing against them. WE CHEERED THEM ON THROUGHOUT THEIR PERFORMANCE. One more thing. Mr. Brian Britt is one of the best band directors in the country. He teaches us to be respectful and kind to every person we meet whether it be during a football game or in school. Maybe you should find out more about someone before you bash them online. That is all. Thank you

Relative to the drum major; please do something with the pony tail as it is a total distraction to your podium leadership. To uncle Brian, you and I both know that a female on the drum major podium is nothing more than a political mode of not escalating a discrimination suit against the university. Next year, please get a male back into this role to suffice the traditions of the "Pride".!!!
@BrassTuner7 жыл бұрын
Actually, I didn't even notice the pony tail until I read your comment. I don't care about it anyway. She is a very good conductor with a lot of energy and accuracy. I would expect her to be quite successful if she chooses to be a band director.
@YukonSooner27 жыл бұрын
I think your comments are quite offensive. Julie Siebert was selected based on her talent, and the Pride fully supports her. To imply that only males can be a drum major is a notion that needs to return to the 1950s. As a former Pride member, I am very happy the band has broken the gender barrier.
