They filmed an episode of the Streets of San Francisco at my Catholic grammar school. The nuns were mad at all of us girls who had our noses pressed to the door so we could watch Bill Bixby and Michael Douglas walking the halls by the classrooms. My mom told me that Michael Douglas and Brenda Vaccaro (his girlfriend at the time) were renting a place a few houses down from ours in North Beach.

I appreciate all that hard work you do editing and a boo hiss to all the cheap knock off imitators of your channel that play the music so loud you can't hear the dialog and get their facts wrong and use click thumbnails that aren't even in the video. You're the BEST! ♥

My God, the flashback I got with Toma!! Haven't seen that opener in 50 years! Meanwhile, the start of Kung-Fu was totally badass. Say what you will about Bruce Lee versus David Carrradine, I love that show and have all three seasons on DVD. Thank you so much Fred this is awesome! 🙂♥️👍👍👍

I had just started 8th grade at the time this lineup was in place. Flip Wilson was the only one of these shows that was in our regular rotation at our house at that time. After his show was canceled we watched The Waltons at 8. I watched Streets of San Fran in summer reruns. By 1975 I was allowed to stay up past 9, and I took full advantage of it, staying up till 11 on weeknights and no set bedtime on weekends. Ah the memories...thanks again Fred!

Brilliant! 14 year old me remembers that Thursday lineup very well. I never watched _Toma_ past the Pilot episode. Star Tony Musante famously only signed up to do one season of what was actually a pretty popular series. Robert Blake was brought in to replace him but they decided he'd be better off as a new character and Baretta was created in 1975. Anyway, on 11 Oct 73 the Toma episode was "Ambush on 7th Avenue". This night's episode of _Kung Fu_ was "The Chalice", the 3rd episode of the 2d season but that guest starred William Smith and not John Saxon. Saxon appeared in the Season 1 Episode 2 offering in "King of the Mountain". I remember that kids in the school the next day would be recounting the previous night's _Kung Fu_ episode. Never missed the _Flip Wilson Show_ although by this 4th Season the show was falling on its last legs and would soon be cancelled when the network wanted changes for the declining ratings and Flip quit.

Can't not compete with the waltons,they were huge on thursdays.that was the real reason why.
@FIREBRAND38
@FIREBRAND38 Жыл бұрын
@@matthewbaduria If you're talking about _Flip Wilson_ I already said that it was due to declining ratings (yes, from the Waltons) with them getting a 28.1 rating and Flip getting a 17 rating. That said, the network wanted to change the show and Flip said he wasn't interested. That IS the "real reason". Otherwise, they would have cancelled the show outright instead of offering changes to renew the show. If you were referring to _Toma_ you don't know what you're talking about.

Ah yes, I was 8 years old, and The Walton's was one of our favorite shows, there theme song, along with many others, is imprinted in my memory. I signed up for band when I was 11 and stayed in it all the way through High School, and at some point we ended up playing a lot of these great theme songs. I remember also that we did watch The Flip Wilson Show sometimes. I was probably in bed when Streets of San Francisco came on, but I did watch it at some point after that. We enjoyed all the Quinn Martin productions, Cannon, Barnaby Jones etc., I still watch some of them on the Memorable Entertainment Network. Super videos Fred, thanks! 👍😃
