I am a surgeon and this type of is likely to have been an abdominal aortic aneurysm which is serious surgery, requiring an extended hospital stay to monitor her progress. The surgery is usually successful, and then requires extended rehab at home till they are satisfied with her. It usually presents with abdominal pain.Sending love and a restored health to her with convalescence.

It’s painful to get cut in the abdomen ! and with 3 young children, who cannot understand how she needs total bed rest & quiet in order to recuperate, it is a good idea to stay in hospital. I had a myomectomy (59 benign fibroids) and after spending 5 days in hospital, they advised me to move to a “hotel” with my Mum in a two-bedroom suite, just across the street but inside the hospital campus, in case I needed looking into during a two-week complete bed confinement. So when I saw the news, the first thing that came to mind was Myomectomy. Pain medication 24/7 for 2 & a half weeks. 😮 No climbing stairs, carrying anything. The pain was unbelievable!

@@cpsily I had an total hysterectomy, oophorectomy, appendectomy and lots of adhesions taken down for endometriosis and I went home that week (only stayed a few more days b/c they forgot to give me intraop antibiotics with the appy). And it is considered pelvic not abdominal surgery. I just hope she’ll be ok.

I wish them both well but we all know that if this had been another couple, this quiet / understanding questions without be afforded to them.
