Just got a PRO-200 last week after watching many of your videos, and thank you for all of the detailed information. The PRO-200 was heavily discounted recently this explains why. Won't be changing any time soon!

Thanks for the info as always Keith! With the 1000 and 200 being refreshed, do you think we'll be seeing a 300S (or whatever name) soon featuring the new Lucia II pigment inks from the 1100?

The 200S is a very minor update, mostly comms firmware/hardware related, like the 10>10S update. If the 300 were to get the new inks I'd expect a model number change. However, the different inks may not be workable in the 300 print head [the same one which was in the pro-10]. A new print head would be a major update. For that the 300 is likely still too 'new'.

Hi Keith. Could you advise what humidity cameras/lenses are supposed to be stored no dryer than? I'm talking traditional photo gear to be kept dry in a damp house to stop fungus growth in the lens really. I've heard 35% as anything dryer will have a deleterious effect on lubricants. But I thought lubricants were oil/organic based. Can't post on Firefox as I'm typing black on black!

I'm confused. Will Canon sell both the original 200 AND the 200s? Or is the 200s going to be the replacement (not necessarily an upgrade)? Are there any downsides to the 200s?

The 200S has a few minor hardware updates, related to networking. There may be [unannounced] manufacturing changes as well. There may be a few more discounted pro-200 models around, depending on how fast and how much inventory Canon has to clear. Going forward, the 200S will be what you find in the shops. The 200 should print just as well... ;-)

So, on balance it's the printer equivalent to "This meeting could have been an email" or to put it another way... This could likely have been a firmware and driver update. Marketing must have their pound of flesh I guess 😄

Hardware I suspect because of the Wi-Fi changes - similar to the PRO-10 to PRO-10S update. Could also be a manufacturing change, so a new SKU required. But yes, one I wanted to point out lest anyone feared their [new but non-'S'] 200 was in some way deficient, from a 'making prints' POV...
