I bought mine about 3 years ago from Audio Advisor; they first sent me a unit that didn’t work so I sent it back. They sent me another and it worked well but sprayed fluid on the underside of the record so the company added a clear plastic record-sized disc to put under the records (dropped it eventually, it cracked), but since it was the same size as an LP if you pushed any fluid to the edges it would wrap around and the other side wet again - ended up using an old 10 inch record instead. Dropped plastic clamp and broke it, bought metal one. Vacuum started getting loud (lots of complaints about this) sounding like a jet engine spinning up. Took it apart, saw that two of the three plastic motor mounts were broken (never dropped the machine). Tried to Super Glue pieces back on and added metal washers for strength but on-off and power switch leads came off and I didn’t put them back on the same way so now I think I blew something because I can’t get it to work again. I took plenty of pictures but they obviously didn’t help me.

I owned two Pro-ject VC-E record cleaners. Both defect within 1.5 years each !

Wow! That's a shame. So far so good with mine. What are you using now instead of the Pro-ject?
