I think it's a way we attack. We tend to build slow and even we have a chance to make a quick play we allow opposition to get back to their defensive positions. Lack of risk and playing safe not to lose a ball. And main one... they are not kids, but players need just learn HOW TO SHOOT THE BALL😁 The another main issue with Newcastle was our defence. First goal could accidentally happen, but how on earth 4 Newcastle players score in a second with 7 Arsenal players defending?

Harry, the team lacks the required quality in the final third (your own words btw) because Arteta misspent a heck lot of money on average players like Havertz, Merino, Calafiori etc… When you will discuss that? Another point i want to make is that you mentioned the attack was at its best two years ago, is it a coincidence Havertz wasn’t there then? I don’t hate the guy as a person but our problems started ever since Arteta started shoehorning him in the team, going as far as dropping Gabriel, playing Partey at right back just to accommodate Havertz in midfield. Mikel is to blame for both problems because he is killing these players’ confidence too. Remove Havertz from the team, go back to our line up 2 seasons ago and stop playing players out of position and with new formation every week. These are all legitimate points you avoid on purpose because you see them too.

Oh and if anyone needs any more proof that Arteta quite literally DESTROYS attacking threats by whittling them down into what HE wants in HIS system….just watch what happens to Nwaneri. We’ve already seen a bit of it this season! At first he was raw but with obvious singular talent and skill and flare. That’s quickly vanishing in place of a system generated, boring, overcoached machine that’s simply manufactured to do a job and not to be himself and accentuate his own personal natural skill. Which is also probably why Arteta refused to play him when HE was exactly what we needed when Odegaard was out! Because Arteta couldn’t “control” him and he was still too talented to Arteta. It’s mind boggling. And it’s also why just about EVERY SINGLE YOUNG YOUTH FORWARD HAS LEFT THE CLUB UNDER ARTETA. Think about why that is….theres only one answer. Arteta. He is killing our club now AND in the future.
@abovebeyondkct6589
@abovebeyondkct6589 26 күн бұрын
Arteta manages like he played….i genuinely think because he was never a supremely talented star player who was very much system-oriented and relied on just keeping things moving, it seems as if he’s got an aversion to star players who can take a match in their hands and perform moments of magic on their own. It’s as if he’s not only employs a style of play that is solely possession based and sidewards or backwards just to keep things ticking, but moreso the players he selects and signs are strictly in his mold. He refuses to bring on players who are uniquely talented. Everyone is someone he can mold into what he wants, and he surely does NOT want any player to distinguish himself on their pitch. And it’s killing the team. Because the best teams have managers who not only have their systems, but they have star players who are allowed to express themselves on the pitch, even if it means the structure is broken for a single play. It’s what breaks teams down, it’s what opponents can’t account for, it’s what makes good teams exciting and frequently win matches they otherwise (as we’ve proved this year) would draw. This is Artetas ultimate team right here. A strong defense, midfielders who don’t have personality but will for the most part remain stout, and absolutely zero attacking flare. Anyone saying it’s not, all I’ve got to say is that he’s had 5+ years and almost a BILLION pounds to create his vision. He’s done that. And that’s why he needs to go. He’s maxed out until he fundamentally changes everything he believes in.

Harry you are right it's a collective problem. I really believe that the only way our attacking gets better if Mikel and Martin have a manager and captain meeting this week though. You can see Martin is struggling but I don't think it's because of injury or fatigue but he needs to see what Mikel can't on the pitch. The defense will be fine but I think he have to let Martins starting position be much higher. Arteta is not going to allow Declan or his wingers to do that but until Martin demands it off Mikel I doubt it can change. I saw Martin drifting almost on a free role yesterday and that's a good sign it may take a couple of games but that's the only solution. We are just not going to collectively score more from our forwards until Saka is back and new signing is not going to impact January. Martin is our captain he needs to be the Steven Gerrard type and just pull it out

I’m a long time coach. This is what I see. We lack penetration in the final third. Penetration is achieved with either the dribble, a pass or a shot. Saka gage is penetration. Ødeguard, whose levels have dropped off, can create penetration. And everyone can shoot. The pedestrian play (left and right at midfield) that leaves is very little in terms of penetration. There are no vertical passes. Nothing breaks the lines We don’t put crosses into that dangerous target just beyond the far post outside the 6 yard box. The way to break down a low block is to dribble at speed into the box. It’s too predictable

We have players that can do exactly what Isaac can do, but Arteta won't allow it. All our offensive problems are down to this slow buildup up high possession style just like last season. After 20 games, we were falling behind City . The style was a miserable 6 he went back to what worked, and we were pretty much unstoppable. The fact that he went back to this style is mind-boggling and a cause for huge concern as just like last season, this style has cost us the title this season. For me, this is a sackable offense. This league is so competitive that you have to get the best out of every player, and this style doesn't get the best out of most of our players. We will not win a thing this season playing this style as it is too easy to defend against. Arteta's game management also has not improved in 2 years, and that is costing us points as well. If he were a player, he would have been sold. For me, this season, he gets a 3 out of 10 so far last season. I gave him a 5 for staying with that failed style for so long. The drop for this season is for doing the exact same thing as last season. He has been the biggest disruptive influence for 2 seasons now.

"Strikers do miss on occasions..." Fair enough. But a decent miss should be via the head, not the shoulder, for sure? Despite Harvertz (Jesus too) had unexpectedly had a short good run, this "shoulder miss" tell me he cannot be played upfront. Harvertz also showed he's not a "Xhaka like" LM player. Now the only thing left (if Arteta still wants to test him), is to let him play at Partey's position. Risk too!

The question to ask ourselves is HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?? Is it in terms of stats and goals scored and “progressing”? Or is it defined by trophies, silverware, and winning? Because the former is what mid-table average level clubs answer. The latter is the ONLY answer for top tier, first class franchises with standards that reflect such. Therefore, any fans who can honestly say Arteta has been successful at this club clearly don’t have the same standards that are of the level of a top European club. He has been an utter failure of a manager for Arsenal. No trophies after getting almost a billion pounds and 5+ years. (That FA Cup isn’t his; not his team, not his players, not his system, he got rid of them all first chance he had). The team projects itself to be a world class organization, and for the fans who have seen this club win top tier trophies, we know it’s in there bc we’ve experienced it, which is why it hurts so bad to witness the club go backwards and some fans accept mediocrity. We as fans have a role in this club, we need to demand the standards are raised to where they should be.

The problem is obvious. We must understand where we're at. Serious questions have to be asked about Arteta or the board or both. The negligence in attack and overall balance to the team is affecting us. I will give some sympathy to the injuries we've had, but besides Saka we played with arguably our strongest XI yesterday. Perhaps Odegaard and Havertz aren't fully fit but questions still must be asked. We can't blame refs or just injuries, we could all see Saka was accumulating a lot of minutes, went all the way with England and needed time to not only reset his body but his mind. This attack feels like it's lacking dimensions, lacking bravery, lacking ingenuity. We don't stretch out the pitch down the flanks, we don't have a ball carrying creative player who can pass through the lines or has long ball striking ability. We don't have wingers who turn on the afterburners and outpace defenders or have elite dribbling ability. No maverick. No goalscorer who gets the clinical goals in the clinical moments. While we have scored a lot of goals over the last two years, it has not amounted to what fans should ultimately want which is trophies. Scoring 6 past West Ham or 6 against Sheffield is all good, but it's about scoring and winning games you play poor or have no business of winning. Games like Spurs at home (1-1 draw), games like Villa at home (Loss), Man City away (0-0). You need to get something out of nothing at times, premier league, UCL, FA and league cup are littered with those moments. Winning trophies is not something we can simply demand but it's something we should aspire to, and if we don't get it, we should ask questions about the ambition of the club. As fans, we have the right to do so. I'll ask this, if we don't win anything and we look back at this period, what will all say? I imagine it would be something along the lines of us being great, really great, but when it truly mattered, when it really came down to it, they couldn't get over the BIG line. And big players like Saka, Saliba, Gabriel, Odegaard, Rice, just couldn't win with Arsenal.
@jidf32
@jidf32 26 күн бұрын
On top of keyboard football executives we now have keyboard physiotherapists. Saka's minutes have been no different to the best players and legends. How many times has Salah been rested? You even know who his cover is? The people who are qualified, paid and actually physically examine him in conjunction with the player himself assessed that he was fine. So you know more about Saka than people who spend more time with him in a week than time you watch him in a season? Havertz last season was clutch and scored clinical goals against Brentfordx2, Everton, Spurs, Luton, etc but he seems to be on your enemies list. I'm guessing that's because in your mind there's a player out there who will score in every single game in which Arsenal needs a goal. So your logic, which I asked you about in the live is, Arsenal has scored tons of goals in the past 2 season but because we didn't win trophies, the problem has to be that we don't have a goalscorer? It's not that we can't manage games, slow down tempo when ahead, increase when we are behind, it's not the midfield or creativity, it's not the defence, goalkeeper, none of that. To you the problem is the one thing we excelled in in the seasons we didn't win trophies? In what actual world does that make sense? Is the bandwagon so strong that you can't even see the flaw in your logic? You're just going along with a bandwagon because it's internet cool to demand a striker? Arsenal lost 3 league games in the year of 2024. 1 of those games was in the 2023/24 season. With a straight face you want to claim that 3 league losses in 2024 is too much and we would have not lost any league games at all had we had a striker? That striker would have put 6 past West Ham and Sheffield while scoring against City, Liverpool, and everyone else?🤣🤣. This fanbase. It's also hilarious to see you try to downplay the fact that we've scored more league goals in the past 2 seasons than in any of the last 20 seasons in season where we've hardly lost to top 6 teams and have gone as near as 2 points off winning the league on the last day of the season by claiming the bulk of the goals are inconsequential because West Ham, Sheffield. Imagine if people said that about Halaand's goals. As fans you have the right to feel entitled. The club is not obligated to indulge in your sense of entitlement. If you want Isak, Harry wants Osimhen and Robbie wants Sesko, by all means ask for them. But the club doesn't have to listen to fans who demand without serious analysis. Fans who have the luxury of getting thing wrong like demanding Spence, Vlahovic, Bissouma, Mudryk and many other players you lot demanded who turned out to be duds without having to face the consequences of getting things wrong. It's easy making demands based on what everyone is saying, jumping on bandwagons, watching KZbin compilations and then demanding a club get players under the pretext of "standards" knowing full well if you get it wrong, you pretend nothing happened and demand more and more. It's something totally different actually running day to day operations of a club. This is what makes it so funny how some fans watch players or a team for 90 minutes a week if they are lucky and all a sudden they think they know more than those who spend more than 90 hours with those players per week. It's one thing to have an opinion. But to arrogantly think you know....

@@jidf32 It's as if you're purposefully trying to not understand, it's as if not winning the league for over two decades, not winning the UCL ever, not winning the FA Cup in years or league cup for 30 years doesn't bother. I genuinely am confused if you want the club to go all the way and to do what's in their power to win. Let me address some things you said even though it's my better judgment not to. Salah playing as many games as he does, does not necessarily warrant Saka playing the same mount of minutes or being run into the ground. I don't spend time with Saka but what I have seen over the last few years is a young player who has accumulated a vast amount of minutes for both club and country. How many minutes Salah played for Egypt eludes me but for England, Saka has played a lot of minutes. It's about protecting the player, it's about seeing the likes of Rooney and Owen, who accumulated a lot of minutes while young and petered out when older. It's about not feeling the need to bring Saka on in games like Bolton or Preston, especially when we are very reliant on him. I would argue Liverpool would be wise to also rest Salah in games especially when ahead. You mention Havertz being clutch? The same Havertz who in 37 games scored 13? The same who was playing in midfield which is the area Arteta bought him for until he realised he isn't all that great in that position? And then moved him into no.9? While Havertz scored some important goals, a different OPTION up front (which is what you seem to argue against me on) could have seen Arsenal not only break their goal record since the invincibles but get those few crucial goals in those crucial games that could have seen Arsenal win the league. You also fail to mention or capitulation in the UCL (failing to score against Bayern, Kai played), failure in FA Cup (failing to score against Liverpool, Kai played) and the league cup. I'm not simply saying that because we didn't win trophies albeit scoring a lot of goals last season is the sole reason we need a striker. Mind you, I think we need a revamp of the front three and I'll explain. Trossard has been poor this season, alongside Martinelli, the numbers speak for themselves, Jesus went almost a year without scoring in the league. Sterling was brought in on loan, but remained on the bench yesterday, remained on the bench when we were losing to Inter, and I am being told our attack doesn't need to be addressed? That a different type of striker, an elite striker cannot change our fortunes? How does your mind not even grasp this when even ex-footballers and pundits make this assessment of Arsenal? Havertz has 7 goals, Salah has more, so does Haaland and so does Isak. I'll rephrase it then for your liking, Arsenal need a different type of goalscorer, more in the mould of a gunman. Isn't it ironic that when Aubameyang was in the team, Arteta won a trophy? Now, one would be right in saying that the team overall is better now than back then but why is there resistance to bring in a forward player who offers something than Jesus, Havertz, Trossard, Martinelli, Saka, Sterling? Especially when these set of players haven't won major honours. Let me also bring this up, during the summer, I saw ESR, Nelson, Viera and Nketiah leave. I saw Sterling, Merino and Calafiori leave. So no defender left but a defender was brought in, cool, I like Cala. Merino would not classified as an attacking mid in my books, but I'll bite, he's there to replace Viera if you wanna make that argument. So then there's Sterling, who City sold years ago and Chelsea even believed his best days are behind him, yet we bring him last minute and Arteta has rarely, rarely used him when the game stat requires Arsenal to score. So essentially there are holes attacking wise that have not been addressed. How do you not see this? I am genuinely confused by you. I'm not merely asking for a striker, I also want winger(s), ESPECIALLY if we're looking to move some on (Jesus, Trossard, Martinelli), a new 10 would be helpful because so many aspects of Odegaard games suggests he'll be better suited as an 8. The attack needs refreshing, this is the department that Arteta has addressed the least, spent the least amount of money on and has brought the last amount of players in, that's why I bag on about a striker and attackers. All the issues about slowing the tempo down, midfield creativity, and other things you mentioned are also the part of the problem, they are not mutually exclusive from the attacking option, it's all part of the issue at large. It's not only about not losing to the top 6, it's about not losing games like Villa, Fulham, West Ham last season. Losing to Everton, dropping points to Southampton home and away in the 22/23 season. The margins are so fine that Arsenal need to ensure they come out on the right side of those margins. None of Arteta's signings featured yesterday. Is that not an indictment on the current state of the squad? You say fans have the luxury of demanding certain players. So when the club sign players that have portions of the fans head-scratching, should that not be questioned? Signings like Willian? Nuno Tavares? Just to name a few? You give the club a lot of rope but speak as if fans can't make suggestions because they don't know enough.

All I heard was embarrassing excuses for Arteta. Even Tom Canton wasn’t this bad. You keep saying “the club and board” etc, these American owners don’t know anything about transfers with respect to player names etc, Arteta is fully to blame. Imagine buying Havertz from Chelsea for £65 million. Arteta is a clown 🤡

Not interested with looking at our captain and CAM Odegaard with only 2 assists. Guy never pulls the team thru a difficult game and that’s what captains are meant to do. Lead by example. 😅

Arteta has made mistakes, but i dont trust this club one bit. They let wenger down. The arsenal board comprised of old people that are not ambitious enough. They are slowly turning this club into a glorified tottenham.

Evening Harry mate. Our fan base are just so toxic. They can’t wait to watch Arteta fail. Let’s get this straight…It’s not Arteta fault we couldn’t take our chances last night the players are accountable for there final decisions in the final third & not scoring. Granted we do need players to help with the injuries RN & we all know we need a striker but if Arteta asks for a player from the board & they say no or say it’s too much what is he meant to do 😂

So we've scored the more goals in the past 2 seasons than we have in the past 18 years before that and the fact that we have not won the league in those 2 season is proof that we don't have a goalscorer.... To fans it can't be things like lack of in game management. Nope, this team that's scoring more than the past 18 seasons has a problem in that it doesn't have a focalpoint who'll score 35 goals a season while the next 2 players have 5 and 4 goals at season's end. According to fans, that's what will guarantee us trophies.

We have scored 1 goal or 0 goals in 9 games this season in PL and dropped points in 7 of those matches. So goal scoring is a problem. Where were the goals yesterday when we lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle. So we score in bunches. A good example is losing 0-2 at home to west ham last season, then scoring 6 against them away. It's still only three points. Two 2-0 would have given 6. We also lost 0-2 to Aston villa as an example last season, couldn't beat Fulham (showing we drew some games too).

@@osholay That stat you gave about the goals, that is applicable to all teams in the top 10 of the league with the exception of Liverpool. Ironically Liverpool does not have a prolific striker. So if we lost 0-2 then scored 6, then how does that translate to us missing a striker? We can't ask "where the goals were" everytime we lose or don't score enough because this happens to every team.
