Ah I love the "Real men don't wear feminine things" argument. Shows how uneducated these people who make these claims are. Make up and high heals were originally made for men. Make up on men was popular in 4000 BCE-18th century, it wasn't until the 1800s that make up was seen as more of a feminine thing. Heels were made in the 10th century and was designed to make men look taller. Women wore wigs in the 1770s and men started to wear wigs in the 1780s. Men always wore dress and skirt variants too back then. It wasn't until the 1800s that the narrative shifted. And in the 1900s, things marked as feminine were stigmatized and made specifically a woman thing.

In my community and environment, I was given the impression very early on that women would only be interested in me if I appear to be more masculine and play a certain role for them. I think it's a stereotype that a romantic relationship must include one masculine person and one feminine person, with the most manlike person being the masculine one. In m/f relationships, the most manlike person obviously is supposed to be the man, so feminine men obviously need someone more masculine as a partner and that must be another man. It's nonsense, of course. Most people in same-gender relationships in my experience tend to be similar in gender role expression, and feminine men and masculine women can be any sexual orientation. And even if there's a link between queerness and gender role non-conformity, queer people include people who are attracted to the other binary gender, not just strictly gay/lesbian people.

Just remember there’s always amazing nurses who are super friendly and nice. And don’t forget to advocate for yourself as hard as it is it’s important. Last time I had to go to the hospital I was abused by the nurses. Like I was severely depressed and they treated me like I was a homeless druggie because I was having a hard time with self care. And they drug tested me 3 times in a row because they didn’t believe the first results. And where way too rough even when I told them that they didn’t care and I heard them saying what a horrible patient I was. Then lied to my partner saying how much they loved me. Luckily I transferred and the new nurses where amazing!! And where so compassionate and kind,
