This is a bit of dumb take imho - first of all you just state as a fact that the mainstream news channels push a narrative on their viewers, secondly you don’t talk about the main ‘danger’ with stuff like joe rogan, in that they don’t have to work to a set of journalistic standards like the mainstream media. It’s ironic really, when the rest of the video is just a puff, fan piece on why joe rogan is so great and any criticism of him or the bollocks on his podcast is just the mainstream media being jealous. What happened to balance?
@kklh79182 жыл бұрын
Tell me you haven’t not been paying attention to world news without telling me you haven’t been paying attention to world news You think that MSM has standards? You’ve watched zero of Joe’s podcast, especially the ones in mention with Peter McCullough and Malone because they perfectly illustrate that big tech and all major world wide news companies with lead company being the British broadcasting company starting an agenda to censor any information that goes against theirs. And your taking about there is no balance? And there is a danger here? They are actively censoring side effects from the vax, that goes against the whole idea of informed consent. Imagine if we had a code we can look at to make sure crimes against humanities didn’t occur again, huh maybe the Nuremberg code?
@Superdelphinus2 жыл бұрын
@@kklh7918 I don’t think they have standards, I know they do - there are various pieces of legislation and common law that ‘mainstream’ journalists and broadcasters have to abide by. You know, things like - make sure that facts are facts. The new wave of echo chamber fuelling youtubers and podcasters (et al) do not have anything like the same level of scrutiny. Getting large numbers of the public to distrust media has been one of the biggest problems/ achievements (depending on your perspective) of the last 50 years in my opinion. I just find it insane that people on the one hand think that something like the BBC, that’s regulated within an inch if its life, is more likely to push false information/ narratives, than a random guy in front of a camera on KZbin. It demonstrates how powerful the tendency to believe what you agree with and want to be true is.

Agreed, Shay. I expected better from them, particularly Laurence. I guess it comes from a lack of a more coherent ideological framework to analyse these kinds of topics. Add to that their lack of awareness of politics outside of the UK and an overemphasis on "mainstream media vs new media" (which they reduce these situations to a little too easily) and you've got an easy recipe for subscription to the whole "insane woke mob don't want you to say anything at all" discourse. I was with you on the JR thing, riiight up until you said ‘and if he’s wrong, so what?’. The problem with that is that he has an enormous audience, who very much believe in what he says, because nuance is dead apparently. Meaning that when he says something, it holds serious weight in their eyes and if he says something dangerous, or without credence, or one of his guests does and is not corrected (editing makes this possible, Joe) he is responsible for it. He basically wants it both ways: give me a massive audience of passionate followers where I can say what I want to who I want without any responsibility for it. Doesn’t work that way mate.
@kklh79182 жыл бұрын

While I TRULY enjoy your podcast (new fan/sub), isn't it a little hypocritical to bash the major news networks for using Joe Rogan's NAME to get people to listen to and watch their show, when you two are literally doing the EXACT same thing with this video of yours? I mean his name is in the title of your video. If you're calling out the mainstream media for engaging in that type of deliberate practice, you should at least call a spade a spade and admit that you're doing the same thing as them, even though you are defending him, rather than attacking him as they're doing.
