I personally think this bag is beautiful, don’t get me wrong. My issue is the lack of creativity and new design. And for the life of me I cannot comprehend how the East West is more expensive than the pochette metis. Almost $3000 for an even smaller canvas bag? Right! Let me know your thoughts! It is true about the price. However, i prefer the new east west. The original pochette metis reminds me of a work lap top work bag. I like the size of the east west, it can be worn dressed up or down. The straps can be also adjusted so many ways, and make it a night bag by adding the chain as a handle. Its cute.

Totally agree. They’ve lost the plot. They’re busy chasing every trend and every segment of the market, they’re losing their appeal. Creatively, the recent designs are a disaster. They’re now selling fast fashion at luxury price points.

I just got the east west in empreinte noir and it sits beautifully on me cross body and I’m 5’5”! It definitely sits shorter than my original PM but I don’t mind it that way either. I think it’s a beautiful bag.

I prefer the size of the east west and like the crossbody bags but always wear them as shoulder bags. I just don't like the price and don't want to pay that for a coated canvas bag. I love the design but refuse to pay that price. Waiting for Coach to make one that is just as good in leather for less money.

I come across your video while looking on pm eastwest review. Having the classic pm in dune/turtledove color, it’s a much loved bag of mine and used a lot especially on my travel. But lately I haven’t reached out for it. So I just thought that maybe getting a smaller version of the pm is better for walk, date night, esp with that gorgeous chain might be a game changer. But I agree with your points. The price is just too much for such small bag unfortunately. And since I’m looking for MNG for variation and price made me think is it worthy? 😊 Aside from not reaching my pm, I haven’t actually reached out for my LV bags. I don’t know. Someone commented not to long ago that they actually get more use out of their Eastwest than the classic because the smaller size & the added chain make it easy to take it from day to night. Maybe giving your classic PM a day out will reignite your love for it. I know you just inspired me to take mine out 💕

Everything you have expressed is exactly how I feel about Louis Vuitton these days. The creativity isn't there. Introducing smaller bags at a higher price point is ridiculous. Not to mention the quality issues they've been having over the past few years. They should really focus on improving their quality instead of bringing out a new bag what feels like every month & constantly increasing their prices. However, the reason they're doing it is because people keep buying their bags. Especially people who have the money to buy practically whatever they want & they buy LV as a status symbol. Louis Vuitton has strayed too far away from the quality & classic handbags they are known for.

That's why I'm more likely to buy from the pre-loved market because the vintage bags have better quality & I find them in really amazing condition. I really agree with everything that you have said about the EW, the strap the size in comparison.. but I went in store today and the EW in the black leather emperinte was GORGEOUS! I hate hate the price but I have had the pochette Metis in monogram and it was too boxy for me so I returned it. I honestly do not want to give LV all of this money for a smaller bag /shorter strap but maaan that bag was beautiful on me and I definitely know that I will get a lot of wear out of it!! Help!!

So update, after purchasing the Alma bb instead I had to return it due to quality issues. Knowing that the EW has been on my mind since I first tried it on in the store, I went online and …. I purchased the EW in black empreinte leather 👏🏾👏🏾 It was an expensive purchase but I know that I will get lots of use out of this bag and tbh I couldn’t stop thinking about it - full leather too so I believe that I made a good decision for me xxx

I get compliments every time I wear it. The leather is beautiful & durable. It comes with the “back in the day” leather strap which I love, along with a chain with the intertwined leather strap! Perfect but expensive xx

I ordered the east west and returned it as it was too chunky. I will say that most designers have done the micro bag not just LV. What can I say thought, I traded it for the Mini Dauphine which is even more.

The price is overpriced for sure and I can’t believe it’s more than the Alma BB which has been on my wishlist for a long time. I will say that the pochette Métis is a classic for LV and I thought I wanted it but for my body frame I didn’t like it on me however the east west I definitely want.
