And making it look like it's rolling on it's own by giving it (retired) passenger cars

When I came to the heading for comments, it said, 6 comments , but when I accessed it, there were ONLY 2, And 2 Replies, for 1 of them .2+2= 4, so what happened to the other two? Mine NOW makes the total 5, so it seems, that Someone has had "Tee meny martooneys", or too many Fingrez, to cowntz.

St. Louis Transport Museum owns it, it's where it belongs. Be happy they loaned her to the Roanoke museum for a few years. They had to pull the main rods for towing it across half the country, otherwise the pistons would have burned up in the cylinders. They're going to rehang the rods soon.

Either put the engine back inside of Roanoke or better yet; restore it

Keep in mind that the side rods might have not been able to do the 1000 mile ish trip with out breaking, besides it looks like they put them back on when It got to st louis.

Side rods removed to prevent damage to the cylinders. The locomotive was sent there originally and was only in Roanoke for a 5 year swap in which Roanoke sent an F unit B model to St Louis. My grandfather helped to start the museum in St Louis. It has grown and changed over the years and is worth the trip. Plus there’s the Arch on the river front and a great zoo. And you can take Amtrak to get there.

Retiring him and try to put him in a good spot is not helping, this engine is still useful
