Thank you for this. For me, perfectionism was the terror I felt when I realized my 13yo needed a completely different form of schooling (quasi-unschooling, which is so not me!) Will she fail at life if she has no interest in algebra? If she refuses to write essays? I still struggle with the anxiety of that so much, seeing what her peers are doing. But since the most important thing, the reason she's home, is so that I can respect her needs in a way public school never would. I'm learning to let her teach me what education can be. I hope making this video helped you as well, and that you all have a wonderful year.

I remember I was having a bad homeschool day and I was a newbie. I was talking about my failings to a friend. She told me you can't compare your worst homeschool days with the public school's best day. Compare the best from both and the worst from both. For me, our worst days are better than the worst in public and the best are way better than the best of public. I have always remembered that convo when we hit a rocky season.

It will all work itself out eventually. Lol That is the advice I keep telling myself. The "perfect" homeschool doesn't exist. We all struggle. None of us have it all together. We just do our best and thrive one. You are enough. You are amazing. It is more important to spend time with my kids than to spend time worrying about "perfect."

As for having apps downloaded for the first day back to homeschool . . . . that has been my *student's* job since roughly first grade. Mom doesn't download apps. Just a thought ; )

I started to say that I could do that if I knew what apps I actually needed and made a list. Then I realized, I don’t actually need a list. As I think of it, I can tell them and they can do it. Thanks!
