Who was claiming that years after the fact? 1981 is when Shimano released their AX aerodynamic groupset. Miyata had an aero frame by 82, as did others I'm sure, and Araya had aero rims.

Panasonic makes everything from bikes to prefab houses (Panahome). I lived in Japan from 95-97 and I recall seeing a commercial for an early ebike. In the commercial, it talked about how going downhill to the station in the morning was a breeze but going uphill on the way home was bothersome. Now, there's a solution!

No doubt it’s brazed you’re right translation error in German „hart löten“ is with brass or silver and löten is with tin (for electric/electronic) Welding would weaken the thin steel tubes to much- the Ti tubes in the film are being welded there I was astonished that it was done in normal atmosphere I thought it must be done in atmospheare without oxigene (in German „Schutzgas“)

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the Keirin frame introduced to the mix... I have two Panasonic Keirin frames-a 2020 and a 2018-and they are among my favorites. To witness where they were made has my mind in hula-hoops. So dope. Incidentally, to acknowledge a criticism here in the comments, one of my frames has a single decal on the drive-side chain stay... The other has a decal on every tube on both sides of the frame... I love them equally and find the branding adorable-regardless of its presence :)

@@PrograError Many bicycles produced in Japan are electrically assisted. Many inexpensive bicycles made in Taiwan and China are sold in Japan as well. However, Bridgestone, Maruishi Cycle, and Panasonic also make regular bicycles in Japan. I bought a Japanese-made one for my junior high school son 10 years ago because of the quality. I decided that if I could get a product that was guaranteed to be safe for a child's life, it would be cheap. Even when my two sons ride it every day to go to school, there is no accident due to malfunction. I can still ride it comfortably.
