Keith's exhausted. It's hard seeing him so drained. You can see him fading away in this interview. Usually he's so animated, and eager to respond. Looking back on this now, you can see the signs of what's to come. It's heartbreaking. And most of us never even noticed until it was too late. He'll never be forgotten though. 💔

Hi Shona (nice Scots name) as a person who's seen and been on both sides of the depression coin, the truth is, when you're depressed nobody wants to be around you, I don't mean just down in the dumps, I mean constantly depressed, it's a tightrope, the truth though about the music biz though, is that American contracts have a death clause, in case you die, they collect, but there's not a lot they can recover from people not fulfilling contracts except sue and if they don't have a lot of money, guess what, they collect on the death clause, same with Amy Winehouse, Taylor Hawkins and so on, they stopped fulfilling contracts so they collected.. sad but unfortunately true.

One of THE most important bands this country has ever produced. I had the privilege to briefly meet them backstage before Global Gathering one year and they were just the nicest people to a starstruck fan, it meant everything to me. They're almost 2 different concepts - in the studio it's all about the genius of Liam but on stage it was the Maxim & Keef show...and fuck me what a show it was to witness. When i heard the news about Keef it fucking broke my heart. I saw them on the tour for this album in Cardiff & it was just so intensely, aggressively amazing. If only he knew how loved he was. Appreciate the good times when you have them people, life is too short to waste by being angry or unhappy. You may be gone, but you'll never be forgotten Firestarter ❤

The fact of Prodigy is Liam was the powerhouse, brains and captain of the ship. Even though i loved Keith and Maxim i always saw them as just hype men for Liam. Makes me wonder if that's how Keith saw himself as well.
@ShonnaNelsonWilliams11 ай бұрын
Both Maxim and Keith gave full credit to Liam, but all agreed that The Prodigy would've never been what the band was without all of them together. Outside of the band both Keith and Maxim were successful. Keith ran his own motorcycle line, and Maxim is an artist. Music kept them together. But ultimately they knew this was Liam's dream.
@onenation870727 күн бұрын
No, it's all of there's. In the beginning, it was Keith's idea was to create a live act on stage. Keith introduced Liam to Leeroy, and later, they both introduced Maxim to Liam. That was how the Prodigy formed. To call them hype men is an utter disrespect. They were all entertainers who also had actual talent that progressed and evolved the Prodigy sound. Keith's depression was triggered by being in debt and his losing properties. Also, his Japanese wife wanted to leave him. Keith loved the Prodigy. Without the band, he would have had nothing.

Obviously Liam is the main song writer. He makes that very clear in every interview. The guy rarely talks about "we" and more "I". Fair enough though, as he is the creator of this great music. I just wonder how that must feel for Keith and Maxim each time during interviews like this though? As a drummer, I can understand the internal frustration (and even embarrassment) felt when you have had no initial input on the original creation of a piece of music.

Especially since Maxim is a great producer in his own right. I really liked his debut album, written and produced by him.

I think their take is different. They're fully aware that musically they're just sample sources for Liam. 13:41 - Keith: "When you're putting a vocal down, it's just creating a noise or sound for Liam to work with". They were aware from the start that their role in the band was primarily to be the brand ambassadors, and since Liam is deeply introvert, he was very grateful to have them take ownership of that.
