Did they choose 50s vs p45b cells for cost? From real world stuff I've read, 50s doesn't really like 20kw usage, especially at lower state of charge. The 50s also seems to generate much more heat causing damage at 20kw. Plus less cycle of life at peak. The p45b seems like a much better choice, especially for newer higher output bikes. 45a peak usable, less head during discharge, longer life cycle. So while it's a claimed 22kw bike, for how long? Seems like something to think of with the type of cells used. Anyone have thoughts on this?
@euc_bbqАй бұрын
I can almost guarantee the main reason with going with 96v or 98v was to achieve 20kw with less amps needed. More cells in series 26s7p puts a lot less strain on the cells. It's the main reason all my bikes are 96v. I personally only use Molicel for my other 96v bikes, but to achieve 20kw for 96v 50s cells will be sufficient enough for most.

@ChargedCycleWorks25 күн бұрын
The seat height is similar to an 85 for sure, you’ll have a slight power advantage, the Altis is roughly 28HP in comparison to an 85cc being around 24. However the Altis is heavier than 160lbs at a claimed weight of 185lbs. The Altis also has less suspension travel than an 85cc does. You’d definitely holeshot, but if situations get hairy the shorter suspension travel has less forgiveness in racing. All things to consider. The Altis has a 120v charger

As a 190lb rider the suspension was too soft for my preference, however it's much better than a lot of the other bikes out of the factory so it's hard to be too critical there. Suspension was similar to a Talaria with the upgraded Factory Fork or Ventus with the Gravity fork. Unknown what the reliability will be like at this point. It also comes with 7/8" bars which is a strange choice, but not that big of a deal as the MX market has bars in these size. Can't wait get one into our shop and do more bike setup on it and more in-depth and well rounded review and riding on it and put it up against other bikes in its class.

Let's gooo. Will I replace my order?
@edgurash834Ай бұрын
What did you buy?
@adrenaholic1Ай бұрын
@edgurash834 I put a deposit on an altis. After seeing the weight, amongst a few other details, I canceled my order. Really shopping for my son that currently races mx on an 85
@edgurash834Ай бұрын
@adrenaholic1 Aww, man! I get it, if off-road is your goal. Mine is going to be used as street riding, so I juiced for it.
@adrenaholic1Ай бұрын
@edgurash834 Two complete different sides of the e bike world. If my son and I were to hit the streets we would be in jail by sunset. So we have to escape the life of Karen's by going to the mx tracks or utv parks for freedom. ✌️

Why did they skip over the range? This makes me so worried
@ChargedCycleWorksАй бұрын
Don’t be. We also did a 12-13 mile night ride after forgetting to charge it. The range is equal or more to all the other bikes we’ve ridden lately (2.0, 3.0, MX5, etc). This video was an introduction and initial impressions. Next videos will be potential mods, trail rides, and range tests.

Should have taken it on the Vet track, is has the power!
@ChargedCycleWorksАй бұрын
@@se11459 we did, just didn’t make it into the video. The power is 100% there.
@tannerworley6919Ай бұрын
That would be nice to see, having an ultra with the x9000 tuned to 17kw, we have debated how many kw is needed to safely ride that vet track. 17kw barely does it, wish I could pull closer to 25kw out of my bike, fox can be funny, if your on an electric and not clearing everything, you get sent to that pit bike track
@se11459Ай бұрын
@@tannerworley6919Good points. I have an Alta and it’s great on any track but you are looking at 20 laps on the Vet and battery is done. On one of these smaller bikes with a much smaller battery pushing a lot of power it would likely be less? Fox needs to build something in between!

They should’ve given this bike a frame like the dust moto

rear shock seems questionable

It wasn’t bad, but luckily the other ones fit. We’ll probably install our EXT Arma w 550 or 600lb spring.

LOL, you expect someone to fly from Utah to California for a first ride review with a scale? As said in the video, future video.

@BrianLampright913 haha. No expectations. These guys provide us with great resources. Just saying I'm not sold until the weight is proven to be >186lbs

We did a bit of street riding that didn’t make it into this video. It’s a beast and would be awesome on supermoto wheels
