I was reading the fan messages on Lewis' unofficial fan club - and i saw a lot of people expressing genuine love for lewis. I was taken aback. Many thanked him for his work over the years - esp in the professionals - but they thanked him for his other roles too. And lots of people wanting him to get back to the UK.

Besides, maybe the Producer of Bond at that time was having a bad day (maybe he had a tummy ache and was just 'not in the mood'? and it was unfair to kick someone out just after a short meeting.
