You wrote exactly what I was going to write so I just piggybacked on your post with a thumbs-up. Ginger is not ugly (obviously,) but she is over the top. It's not her fault but her part. Even so, Maryann is still prettier. What makes her hotter is her the roll she played...innocent farm-girl awesomeness. I think Maryann always rated higher than Ginger, even back then, so if that is the case then the studio got it wrong to pay Ginger more. If that is true then it begs the question; did they pay Ginger more than Maryann because in the role she played she was richer? If that is the case that would just be dumb. Shout out to Maryann for helping me through puberty!😉

Gilligan's Island was filmed in the back lot at the CBS Studio where the lagoon was built, this was already in a documentary on the series Gilligan's Island, The Lagoon was constructed at the CBS Studio Center back lot. It was located about half a mile from an interstate roadway and the sounds of rush-hour traffic often resulted in huge delays in filming.. The Lagoon was only about 4-feet at its deepest point. Filming of "Gilligan's Island" occurred during the fall and winter months and required cast members to sometimes swim in the chilly 50 degree water. Bob Denver often wore a wet suit under his clothes to combat the cold temperature. it is all here in this link -> gilligan.fandom.com/wiki/Gilligan%27s_Island_Wiki

Ginger preferred your company when, and only when it got her something. Mary Ann was attractive, sweet, altruistic, and genuine. Some guys might date Ginger once. Most fellows would fight to wed Mary Ann. Even if they, and you were boys of 10 years age, which would you want as a friend? Skimpy shorts weren't necessary. Mary Ann could beat Ginger wearing a raincoat with her personality. IMO, they did a good job in casting Dawn Wells.

You got that right. Ginger was nothing but a gold digger.

Here’s a little twist for you. The S.S. Minnow is an oxymoron. S.S. stands for “Steam Ship”. This boat wasn’t anywhere near being a Steam Ship! It was either a diesel or gasoline engine powered boat. It should never have been classified as an S.S.

You left out the episode where they make the silent movie with cameras they found on a sunken ship. They show a drawing saying about where the island is located.

That's right! They seal the finished film in water-tight canisters, put in on a raft, and put it on the outgoing tide. It gets found, but instead of leading to rescue... what happened? I have the vague notion that they heard a radio report that the mystery film won a prize at some film festival.

Mary Ann was from Kansas, she was not a "Southern Bell" as you state at the 25 second mark. I also would not say Gilligan was a younger Barney Fife, they had little in common in personality. Yes they both screwed things up, but Gilligan was 10 times as bad as Barney did in that respect. I don't think you have watched much of either show, whoever wrote this,.

I always thought that lot were a bit suss. Why did the Howells have all those trunks of stuff with them for a three hour tour? Why was Ginger all dressed up for the same? What was the professor actually a professor of? Someone was up to something. Loved the show though and Maryanne was always my favourite, I found Ginger a bit boring.

When Gilligan's Island was in it's original run, there were people I knew from the who thought that the holes in the minnow were caused by lightning strikes, when it was caught in the storm.

All day, all night Mary Anne, down by the seaside sifting sand. All the little children love Mary Anne, down by the seaside sifting sand. Those little shorts really did it for me.
