That was my take too it should be determined on the boat if it’s a shooter based on size not just a bear to shoot. The video had something of contest aura and not my type of hunt.

Wise decision to not continue hunting. Many places in SE Alaska have a wounded bear tagged out regulation. In other words if you draw blood but can’t find your bear it still counts. Years ago this got Uncle Ted in trouble because it was a very unknown law. It was so lesser known that the judge himself wasn’t aware of it, the state wildlife department didn’t bring charges, and it was crazed anti-hunters who watch shows and caught the infraction.

Normally I think Weatherby’s are trash since I’ve had to send back multiple $1800+ guns because the quality was TERRIBLE. I can say at least yall partnered on an affordable gun when normally they are way overpriced junk. Tough to go with a Weatherby when there are cheaper better guns like Tikka and bergara.
