The size of the board we can see is 16x17 or 272 so if you fill the board with flags, it shoud have -232 (shown as -32) mines, not -216(-16) pair that with the cursor not lining up and you have a weird edit, because I'm sure it'd take less effort to do it genuinely than doing this Correction: the number is not edited, after watching again, they probably just didn't fill the whole board but only the part you can see (16x16) so -16 tracks... Still the cursor is what's bothering me

So, for example, if you have a 1 tile tucked away on an inside corner, there is only 1 space, and it has to be a mine, so you put a flag down. Then if there is another 1 tile touching that mine, you know that all the other tiles adjacent are safe to click on because there was only 1 bomb and you found it. Hope that helped

It complicates the mechanism and make no sense outside of very nieche booby traps. Why give the enemy a chance to survive? The mechanism variations that saw wide use were the anti-vehicle, with decreased weight sensitivity, and double-tap, which detonated only on the second trigger to maximize effectiveness against a group.

That could be the meanest computer prank ever - swap the cursor set for an identical one but with the cursor hotspot at the cursor tail instead of point. Even for people who know how cursor hotspots work it could take ages to figure out what's going on.

On the smallest board I would play until I completed it in 1 second. Then people would log on and I knew someone was impressed when I hear “oh shit, how the heck?” Mission accomplished.

@@IBrain7896 Minesweepers only hard if the version generates unsolvable situations; ie you *have* to guess. I don't think the OG Windows Minesweeper game has this problem, but knockoffs definitely do because they don't use a real algorithm, they just give each tile a random chance to spawn with a mine or not up to a certain max number of mines.

if you dont want to set records, sure iirc easy mode 6 seconds and medium was probably 26 seconds. the hard mode with 99 bombs I want to say 78. for these that dont know, the numbers tell you how many adjacent squares are bombs in the part that they open up the top area, on the right side 12122, its bomb empty bomb empty bomb on the left: ?, ?, empty bomb empty empty bomb empty then the boxes touching the 3 from below idk

I have seen comments regarding the cursor being off-centered. I can clearly tell you that this person definitely recorded this in XBox Gamebar. How do I know this? I use this as my main screen recorder and each time I use it, I notice the cursor is always off-centred, never aligned wherever it's clicked in the output.

Triple digits negatives can't fit into that field, so it goes from -99 to -00 (meaning -100), and then again at -200, so -216 becomes -16. Negative mine count is there more for completeness sake than practicality, since it doesn't come up at all in proper games.
