The propper tuning for "SEASONS" by CHRIS CORNELL

Hey Ryan. I have another account with my Songs but I was messing with this Tune the past few days and for the people that don’t want to do the F5 Tuning, try this. I tuned it to DADAAD and Capoed the 3rd fret and it sounds pretty Good so the D would be an F chord with the Capo which you are saying. I actually play it the same way but if you Get a chance try it for shits and Giggles. All the Best Brother. I’ll post at the top too if anyone wants to try it !!! Peace Scott

Hey Scott I did try it, it took a little while to get used to it, but your right! The record is FFCCCF. You can hear the high F ringing on the first chord. Cornell played Seasons a half step down live, which is EEBBBE. I put a wound 0.30 string in the G position and tune down to C. It plays in tune and I can still get some vibrato out of it like Cornell had on the record. Cornell probably liked a G wound up to B for tension, but winding up to C would be nuts. R.I.P. Chris Cornell

You can tune it both ways as long as you don't bar the 1st string when you play it. I actually like the ring that the high F makes so I prefer F on the 1st string with all due respect to anyone who disagrees.

Carlos Noyola The 2 Guitars make this song. I seen Cornell play it in 3 Different Tunings when he plays it Solo. Depends on your Vocal range. Look up Cover Tunes on here and you’ll see the craziest tunings and vocals. Very few come close to nailing it.

The truth is there are many ways to play this song, I saw Chris Cornell play seasons live ( solo) and he explained the tuning on it, but honestly if it feels right to you and sounds good, then go with, just have fun with it, and keep Jamming, make a vid of your progress and send the link here so I can see it!!!

@@Mr90sMusiclover also forgot to mention that he said "the first B is low and the next two are high. " I assume that means that the two E's are the same and two high B's are the same. To be honest I don't think we will ever know. Chris told the story of him making this song for the album, it was done in a closet in his apartment using and an old tape recorder for over dubbing. (This is amazing in itself). I have a feeling that Chris doesn't quite remember how he did it while he was experimenting that day. I will say that the tuning he said he uses does explain why it sounds like he is playing a 12 string guitar.
