I've changed after his lesson. I realised I was an agreeable person. I changed, I speak up, I tell the truth, I challenge. And things changed for much better: people start to understand my boundaries and stop crossing them; and I found respect, from people and from me, to myself. Your words change lives for better Jordan. Thank you!

Jordan's disagreeable client sounds very based. There's a time and place to be nice to people, but certainly not in the corporate world. Having to terminate an employee is never fun, but it's a necessarily evil to facilitate productivity within an enterprise.

As a fundamentally agreeable person, there were many instances of unfair demands made of me over the course of my career. But I focused on developing a portable, in demand skill set. The result was that when the unfairness reached a threshold, I quietly went out and found other employment and then informed the management (who really should have known better) that I was out of there. Each new employment situation brought either a raise in income or an opportunity to acquire new valuable skills. So I only had to put up with managerial incompetence and abuse for a short time in any particular situation. And I could remain true to myself and mostly agreeable.

But in some sense, that's being a bit disagreeable because by you leaving, you're basically telling them to F off, not caring what they think. But then this reminds me of a quote by Dave Chapelle's mom: "sometimes you gotta be a lion so you can be the lamb that you really are."

I am a more disagreeable person, almost all the time it's easy for me to say no. As a side note I also find it hilarious how when you tell people no when they're expecting a yes they got offended even when it's 100% your choice to agree with them or not. I think people have gotten so agreeable without actually thinking about what they agree to with this overly woke crap we've been dealing with that they just agree with it so that they don't get into an argument with a pink haired nightmare of a person screaming in their ear because they don't want to be vegan or whatever!@@hexagram531

I see tough guys.... either celebrities or cops or CEOs acting all opinionated and independent.... and I just shake my head cause its EASY to be tough guy when got the leverage. It's the little man with everything to lose that says "Fuck you." to his boss that I commend. It's way too often taken advantage of in workspaces the boss forcing employees to do things cause they can't lose their job they got families to feed.

I am flexible, agreeable, and play along as long as I am treated fairly and justly. I become highly disagreeable when I see people are taking advantage of me being nice and co operative. I know I am telling the truth, if i get fired or something.. be it. It is their loss. They will loose a highly commited and productive person. The world is filled with opportunities for those who take themselves seriously, those who are committed, and those who work hard.

Thanks for honoring my freedom of speech. Jordan loves to preach either Catholic or Protestant doctrines from his bible. As we don't know whether Jordan is a Catholic or a Protestant ... we know he is disagreeable to one or the other ... but we don't know which side he is on. Protestant and Catholic wars suggests that the factions that hated each other ... always were "disagreeable." Could it be that Jordan is disagreeable within his self?

@JathnielChan
@JathnielChan 5 ай бұрын
Jordan Peterson says he’s an agreeable person but he loves the idea of free speech being more disagreeable if able and embracing your shadow or inner monster to get what you want and he thinks it's his place and his right to say something whenever he has something to say and yet! Yet he silences and shuts up and uses his intellect and verbal prowess to stump people and baffle them denying them the very thing he tells them to use, which is their voice for the truth......... evidence is asked for by him on demand... exact precise pristine essay answers are requested by him on cue....... as if he's examining people on something they've deeply studied and need to present publicly right away on the spot pop quiz... like they won't be embarrassed or shy or insecure and that they're used to public lectures and speeches like he is because they're as experienced with public speaking and debating and critical thinking and improvising on the spot as him........... I mean outside of his domain of expertise, he hardly ever says anything that's completely irrefutable or non negotiable or closed to debate though he treats his words and thoughts is if they were and makes that explicitly clear a lot of the time.. because there are a bunch of academics and intellectuals and scholars who have differing opinions and view points than him who don't speak up and he doesn't offer them a proper chance to speak up.... though he seems to be listening for the first second or two after he asks a tough question, he’s looking to reject and deny it if it sounds slightly off as if he were a hot smoking short shorts tall long arm professional volleyball player in tights.... when he says stuff as if he knows what he's talking about, well he actually doesn't provide citations so nobody can confirm or deny it, yet he talks like he’s the expert in many conversations regardless of subject matter.. he just refers to it all as "the literature" as if people know where to start looking those claims up in order to fact check him or as if those things he read have given many final conclusive statements with regards to the claims he likes to make refer to or regurgitate to others...... and he's not the tyrant nor is he the one who needs a prophet to speak to him and address these issues of his..... no..... 😢 .....he's the one who's tackling the tyrants and addressing other people's issues and not becoming like them also...... i mean he's kind of run out of main psychological issues common and some uncommon people face and need his help solving and he's moved into domains outside of his expertise and it shows in the drop of people watching his KZbin videos..... I mean, I found other professional psychologists online who provide some service that actually is better than his in some regards because of how fierce and upfront his all the time...... sure he has a bigger network now among people who've offered him respect and are intellectually sound enough to comprehend and contend with him.... he's gained that audience and those colleagues...... but his help isn't truly that helpful as it's ambiguous or general and problematic and riddled with possible error depending on how you read into it or if you allow someone to twist his words.. and when he tries to make it practical, he gets into nitty gritty stuff that's not always relevant to each person.... when he tries personalizing it or addressing what's relevant to a certain person, he can't always do that because he doesn't know enough about their case or have the time to do a one on one clinical practice because he's too busy talking to an audience being a public figure and engaging with the smartest of all people........ if he doesn't fully agree with something another smart person says, the best he'll do is grant it a fair amount of attention though he often has his qualms with it but the worst he'll do is interject and completely undermine call out and cast aside or crush other people's pearls and ideas and suggestions as if he were one big swine. In practice, he mistakes the idea of Jesus' teaching of sifting the wheat from the chaff and ends up acting like pearls to a swine by crushing people's intellect their ideas and their wisdom and replacing it with his own - as if his were always better - and then he himself hates it and tyrannically punishes people if they disobey reject or ignore his arguments ideas and pearls of judgment.... as if they have to subject themselves to any approval or disapproval of his.... as if he were their god or their ideal or their judge they must present their best pearls and sacrifices and arguments to, which he calls wheat if it's cream of the crop and he'll call them chaff if it's any less than the best he's ever heard........ shame.... years of professorship tons of attention and a position of academic power and privilege may have shaped and warped his mind to be like this....
