Being a 50 year old woman, I'm so thankful to have had my youth in the 1980s, the nostalgia is overwhelming and beautiful! Turning this up full whilst getting ready and smiling at all the wrinkles, crinkles and happiness sprinkles (freckles) in the mirror just because I have a happy heart and am blessed to be here......this song is literally the true definition of feeling alive 💖

I wish that I could find a time machine, because I'd go back in time, back to the 80s, and never leave. The 80s was THE BEST decade to grow up. The music, the fashion, the lingo, prices of things were low, and when MTV actually played MUSIC VIDEOS. I miss the 80s so much. I turned 50 in June, and I'd do anything to go back in time, so that I could have more time with my mom. RIP Mom. You're in Heaven, looking over your daughters, and your 2 grandchildren, and one son in law. Miss you like crazy, and I love you more than words could ever express.

"Remember the good ol' 1980s, When things were less complicated? I wish I could go back there again, And everything would be the same." -Jeff Lynne, "Ticket To The Moon", from ELO's album "Time" Things may not have been simple then, but they were far simpler than now. At least it's now okay to play the Psychedelic Furs again, and hopefully it won't fade away anytime soon........

Very hard to put into words how magical the 80s were . The music,TV , movies and life in general. Music was never as good or original it was sheer brilliance. The band s so talented and different. Music peaked in the 80s and we will not see their like again. Sad and happy to relive all the memories but like like a lot of other replies it was a privilege to grow up in the 80s.

But don't you agree so were Duran Duran, The Pretenders, The Cars, New Order, Missing Persons, Blondie, The Fixx, Talk Talk, Gary Numan, The Cult, Saga, Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, The Firm, Cock Robin, Thomas Dolby, Big Country, Berlin and Asia!! OMG i wish the singer for Big Country (Stuart Adamson) was still alive!!!...He was freaking amazing!!! But it seems many singers/songwriters have depression issues and find a way to leave this Earth way too soon for their devoted fans!!!

The Furs are what converted me to being a "New Wave" fan back in the 80's. I remember being assigned to my first ship, the USS Cushing in 1983, and going in to the ship's store and seeing a cassette tape of the Furs. I has no idea who they were. I saw that tape in there for about six months when I got tired of seeing it. So, I bought it just so the store keeper would order something new. I listened to that tape and became an instant Furs fan. I have had every song of theirs since then (just not on cassette tape any more, LOL!). Sorry I can't make it to the Tucson, AZ concert on October 16th. Would've loved to be there.

Can I say this is a brilliant video? The contrast of a cold, water downpour with the uplifting chorus and energetic performance. There's a special charm to the "juxtaposition", and feels like an undercurrent of biting satire in it. Also, my guess is the main catalyst behind all the spinning and moving around was to keep the blood pumping and their body temps up from the obviously freezing conditions. Simple, and absolutely effective (not to mention fabulous).

@Zasu Pitts I knew you never loved me!!! It was always Richard, never me!!!😅🤣🤣. I saw them at the FOX Theater in Atlanta back in '86 . It was the only concert I ever went to in my life. It was a good show. All those Englishmen and even Blue Nile were scrawny. That was part of the look and probably the hunger helped to hone their musical talent. It's strange being 50. I always have the same vibe in me that the eighties never ended. It's always the eighties inside of me. All this other crazy activity and madness doesn't get inside me. And so the xylophone of the Psychedelic Furs is always playing in my soul. I love it.

@Zasu Pitts Wow! He was a cool dude, sounds like. Even though you loved Richard I don't feel jealous for he is worthy and I feel a bit of honor to have shared you with him and the boys in his band.🐒🤡🤔🤫

@Zasu Pitts I wonder if he thinks about you. His latest song about the wrong train and his wife and her boyfriend hate him and he's probably thinking to himself, "where's that sweet little bird from the colonies now, I wonder?" To be loved by young women and then end up being treated bad at home seems like a crime. It is a crime. Isn't it? And that leads into Thomas Dolby and the Pirate Twins song. The eighties can't end because it was the last of the normal food before it went GMO and the fitness era came into being. We cannot be any other people because the 90s was loads of clinical depression, the 2000s were global war and shrill politics and the last decade was poverty, and now it's biblical level plague and war. Better stick to the tried and true, reliable, IROC-Z T-Top Camaro of the 80s. Because just like the Camaro, the eighties were healthy, sexy, affordable and still very fast.💯

I am 44 and what great time to be a kid/teen growing up to 80's music:) I am biased but most of todays music just sucks from pop, country, to metal.

We don't listen to music like this anymore. The worst band in the 80s would be GOLD nowadays. Even Rick Astley is like David Bowie compared to the shit we listen today.

I'll say it again - ever wonder what the spawn of David Bowie and Mick Jagger would be like? You're looking at it. And that's not a bad thing, surprisingly. In fact, it's kind of awesome.

1980's music was the best, San Diego, Orange County, LA, Santa Barbara, SF, all happening with new wave clubs non stop. Great times...

This song was playing in the background of a restaurant I was in when I received the news that my girl crush was moving 2 hours away and I thought we were over, until she reassured me that she wanted to pursue this relationship more & we were willing to make it work. I literally started tearing up and this song made it 10x more movie moment emotional 💘 (Dec 7 2020)
