I wish that I could find a time machine, because I'd go back in time, back to the 80s, and never leave. The 80s was THE BEST decade to grow up. The music, the fashion, the lingo, prices of things were low, and when MTV actually played MUSIC VIDEOS. I miss the 80s so much. I turned 50 in June, and I'd do anything to go back in time, so that I could have more time with my mom. RIP Mom. The Furs are what converted me to being a "New Wave" fan back in the 80's. I remember being assigned to my first ship, the USS Cushing in 1983, and going in to the ship's store and seeing a cassette tape of the Furs. I has no idea who they were. I saw that tape in there for about six months when I got tired of seeing it. So, I bought it just so the store keeper would order something new. I listened to that tape and became an instant Furs fan. I have had every song of theirs since then (just not on cassette tape any more, LOL!). The 1960's, the 1970's,…. were both magical too although there were assassinations and the Vietnam war. Yes, the 80's were peaceful and colorful, but the 60's especially had some great tunes. Btw, know Francoise Hardy's musical output of the 1960's,.. plus France Gall, Sylvia Vartan, and others...

Can I say this is a brilliant video? The contrast of a cold, water downpour with the uplifting chorus and energetic performance. There's a special charm to the "juxtaposition", and feels like an undercurrent of biting satire in it. Also, my guess is the main catalyst behind all the spinning and moving around was to keep the blood pumping and their body temps up from the obviously freezing conditions. Simple, and absolutely effective (not to mention fabulous).

@Zasu Pitts I knew you never loved me!!! It was always Richard, never me!!!😅🤣🤣. I saw them at the FOX Theater in Atlanta back in '86 . It was the only concert I ever went to in my life. It was a good show. All those Englishmen and even Blue Nile were scrawny. That was part of the look and probably the hunger helped to hone their musical talent. It's strange being 50. I always have the same vibe in me that the eighties never ended. It's always the eighties inside of me. All this other crazy activity and madness doesn't get inside me. And so the xylophone of the Psychedelic Furs is always playing in my soul. I love it.
@jukeboxhero16493 жыл бұрын
@Zasu Pitts Wow! He was a cool dude, sounds like. Even though you loved Richard I don't feel jealous for he is worthy and I feel a bit of honor to have shared you with him and the boys in his band.🐒🤡🤔🤫
@jukeboxhero16493 жыл бұрын
@Zasu Pitts I wonder if he thinks about you. His latest song about the wrong train and his wife and her boyfriend hate him and he's probably thinking to himself, "where's that sweet little bird from the colonies now, I wonder?" To be loved by young women and then end up being treated bad at home seems like a crime. It is a crime. Isn't it? And that leads into Thomas Dolby and the Pirate Twins song. The eighties can't end because it was the last of the normal food before it went GMO and the fitness era came into being. We cannot be any other people because the 90s was loads of clinical depression, the 2000s were global war and shrill politics and the last decade was poverty, and now it's biblical level plague and war. Better stick to the tried and true, reliable, IROC-Z T-Top Camaro of the 80s. Because just like the Camaro, the eighties were healthy, sexy, affordable and still very fast.💯
