I turned 50 in June, and I'd do anything to go back in time, so that I could have more time with my mom. RIP Mom. The Furs are what converted me to being a "New Wave" fan back in the 80's. I remember being assigned to my first ship, the USS Cushing in 1983, and going in to the ship's store and seeing a cassette tape of the Furs. I has no idea who they were. I saw that tape in there for about six months when I got tired of seeing it. So, I bought it just so the store keeper would order something new. I listened to that tape and became an instant Furs fan. I have had every song of theirs since then (just not on cassette tape any more, LOL!). Sorry I can't make it to the Tucson, AZ concert on October 16th. Would've loved to be there.

I became a teenager in 1979, turned 16 in 1982 and reached 21 in 1987. Our generation had the best youth ever, no jobs, no money and discrimination everywhere yet somehow none of that mattered cos we had the music man, we had the music !

Alittlebitnuts2day trust me I haven’t stopped and The Furs weren’t the first 80s act that blew me away (it started with Cyndi Lauper and Echo & The Bunnymen) and it’s grown quite ridiculously since I originally posted my comment. Anyone who lived through the 80s is seriously, seriously lucky to have witnessed such a boom in creativity and talent.
