@stephaniefarrant

The trouble is, the right went left. The Conservatives now are not a right party. They would probably flinch at you referring to them as 'right'. We now have Reform to represent the right, however they are a new party in a historical 2-party system and many people feel like they can only choose Labour or Tory. I think 2029 will look very different. We may not even get to then before a new government is formed.
@lkjadslkfjlaksj

@@stephaniefarrant The conservatives aren't left at all. They had been persuing a policy of austerity since they got into power in 2010. Perhaps you mean on issues such as same-sex marriage? but on that they're very much in line with the majority opinion of the country. So I'm curious what you mean.

@@emanuel1940 Not unless the pattern is broken. Let's face it. Liebour didn't win, the Tory's lost and I'm not defending either party because they have proved to be the same and totally useless. It has always been a 2 party system since the late 1800's with these 2 parties back and forth. Nothing changes. Sunak was not pro British or had British values. The Con servatives were so divided and broken with Sunak not having the balls to do what was right. Admitted defeat and passed the BATON to Liebour. That explains the landslide that Liebour had. Nobody could trust the Tory's anymore so the electorate automatically jumped to the other main party. Typical God help this country.

Most people don't remember . A short history. The last time Labour were in Blair lied and started an illegal war. British soldiers died! (No) weapons of mass destruction as billed Cabinet ministers resigned. There were other lies along the way. Reality check. Politicians make promises they can't keep. To make everything work you need an extra 10-15p on tax. That's an extra £3k p.a. (on average) or £250pm (or National Debt increases dramatically which is what happened before Thatcher. Top rate of tax 83% interest rates 12-15%. Anybody that could left the country. IMF called in £ devalued. A cha ge is good that's what the systems for. Wait 10 years until reality sets in.

The one thing you learn as you get older is that “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss” holds true. I’m not for any side politically, but time wise it is time for a change but only in the sense of it’s just pretty much how it goes for every essentially two party system. We live under one side for long enough that we start to think life’s problems are because of that ruling party, so the tide turns and the other party comes in, people start happy because they have hope that things will get better now, and in the short term they might because there’s kind of a collective want for it but then time goes by and life goes back to normal and all the problems of life remain and thus we’ll carry on until we again reach a point of “no more” and change back to the other side. Yesterday we were blue, today we’re red, tomorrow we’ll be blue again and preparing to go red. It’s a cycle.
