@B R But Obi Wan understood Anakin. He was in love once with Satene. It doesnt matter which Jedi trained him Anakin was doomed from the start. The jedi should have never trained him to begin with. His path to the dark side was inevitable because he was unable to control his emotions. He wanted to save the ones he loved and the jedi were not able to give that to him. Fay would have been a horrible Master. Anakin had absolutely no interest in listening to the force. He wanted to kill droids with his lightsaber fly around with his starfighter and most importantly save people that are close to him, while Fay was exactly the opposite.

It would be nice if the Star Wars universe had more characters like this. Jedi seem to be considered just sword fighters with quick reflexes, which doesn't make any sense in wars dominated by projectile weapons. Jedi are highly spiritually evolved people & their "fighting" on higher levels of existence. Fay not having a light-sabre is showing she is on a higher level than the standard Jedi. Fay would be the most powerful protector, because she would work on the more powerful levels of existence.

The PCs in my Star Wars rpg campaign went on an adventure with Fay and she occasionally appears to the PC Jedi Master in spirit form to offer advice after her death. Well not exactly, it rewarded her because she let the force guide her destiny. Basically she became the closest you could be to being one with the force without ya know, dying. It’s not like the force doesn’t reward the dark side, but it’s far less likely given their unruly nature. It is more likely for a Jedi to be rewarded yes, but the inverse is not impossible.

You know it seems to me that Disney was incredibly short-sighted here. There are so many great characters and many of them are female. If they wanted an origin story here. Why not go with something along the lines of the Dark Jedi Saga. Which lead to The Great Hyperspace Wars. Yes, that would have been expensive. But Star Wars is meant to be done right not half-assed. Queen Shadow which of course is Padme Amidala. Which storyline is way way overdue. Thrawn Trilogy could certainly have been done. Kreia, Darth Zannah, Darth Maladi, Aurra Sing and that's just the Sith lol. Mara Jade, Nomi Sunrider, Aalya Secura & grandmaster Satele Shan especially here as examples!! Add in Depa Billaba who is part of the last High Jedi Council before it fell. One of her padawans is certainly worth mentioning here being Kanan. Luminara Unduli which was a Jedi Master who survived Order 66. Ahsoka Tano which was Anakin Skywalker's Padawan. Yes, you read that correctly. Jaina Solo FeI which is a total badass. Which you unlikely ever going to see in a Star Wars film anytime soon but would give me chills. :)

Who worked as a bounty hunter after the eradication of the Jedi order. Where he had once served as a knight before falling to the dark side. Furthermore when people use the term Sith. They mean the order of Darksiders. Most members of the Sith we recruited or sought out. Some manage to join but many we're Fallen Jedi. Who split off 25,000 years before the OT. A lot of this really just depends on what era of Star Wars Legends you referring to here.

You could compare her similarities to qui-gon or exploit her differences to Yoda. Yoda was the grand master not because he was the most powerful but once almost succumbed to the dark side, Yoda was wise because he knew both sides which is why he was never entirely pure, Fey was utterly pure and was almost an entity of the light force. Never even tempting the dark side.

The concept of a "grey" "Jedi" (thus implying all non-Sith force users are Jedi, for one) is a pile of bullshit Disney shat out. You don't maintain a balance by abstaining from either side of the equation - you balance it by having a part in each and keeping them, well, in balance. The term for a "grey" Jedi was originally a legends term simply used for a former member of the Jedi order who was on their own, still using the light-side of the force. And often it included former Jedi who ideologically split from the Order to practise a more balanced use of the force, but was still not a dark-side user. The dark-sider version was known as a fallen Jedi.
