The Purpose of Small Oil Painting

Small oil painting has been the artist's long time practice which serves several purposes: a study of a full size painting, color observation training, and observation of the subject as a whole. Over the years, the artist has painted many small oil paintings of still life, landscape or studies of full size paintings. All painted from life and many are work of fine art in its own right.
