Man, everybody has watched this movie and says it's a good movie but sometimes it feels like nobody has really watched it because how can you not cry as you watch this movie and relate to it. This is scene is the most powerful and important part of the movie in my opinion. I swear, everybody knows this scene and how true and deep the message is yet nobody FUCKING practices what this scene preaches. I swear, man, many people bash on a person's dreams or take them away because they never put themselves in their shoes. Sometimes, I feel people watch something and know something's true yet never actually understand it because they never practice or incorporate it into their own lives. Not until you devote yourself to your dream no matter will you realize the true meanings of this movie. You'll look at this movie in a different light. The Pursuit of Happyness isn't a huge obstacle you will overcome one day. The pursuit is everyday, everyday you have to be working on your dream despite what people say. FUCK PEOPLE this is your dream and you only got one shot. Another one of my favorite parts in the movie is when Will Smith says "It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I remember thinking how did he know to put the pursuit part in there? That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue and maybe we can actually never have it. No matter what. How did he know that?"

I know it’s a movie but I always love when a parent talks with their child like an equal, has an “adult” conversation. I haven’t seen this scene probably since the movie came out. That was a long time ago. I remember thinking the scene was good then. Now I have a son who is about the age as the boy in this clip. I broke down and cried watching this. The world is a tough place. And we need to protect our kids from it while also preparing them for the immense challenges that lie ahead. The ball rolling to the thing his ex wife was saying he can't sell.. she you can't do it. Is almost like what clicked in his head. He was being a hypocrite. He realized that and said don't listen to me, you can do whatever you want if you dream it. Protect that dream. Don't ever tell your kids they can't do something.. they'll surprise you one day.
