Hah...that's pretty inventive. Just did this shrine the 1st time a week or so ago. Only thing I'll add is to say sometimes the cheat solution(s) are much less obvious the 1st time around...as they should be. This one is a good example. If the tactic you try doesn't work, you fall...and there is also nothing making the moving floor obvious, even if you did get the pad to activate.

@@chooongusbug724 No, not at all. A good way to assume someone’s position on the games though. @@deathound "subjectively" you don't know what that term means...And you proved my point about the old good, new bad comment. Tell me how pushing a block on a switch, shooting an eye, etc. is superior though. Can you take off your nostalgia blinders a bit to acknowledge the flaws with old Zelda and why the series went back to its roots? I don't think you can but nice projection though. Not anyone's fault but your own you weren't creative enough to think of anything outside of rocket shield... Typical nostalgia blind Zelda fan who needs their handheld, great job being a stereotype 😘
@deathound
@deathound Ай бұрын
@@chooongusbug724 LMAO so you revert to that, huh? The difference between ‘just shooting an eye’ and the modern ‘just push a button’ is minimal, actually. Did you know you can switch many eyes with arrows, bombs, chus, hookshot, and sometimes even the boomerang? Many ways to activate it, including game-specific ways. Just like BotW, and even TotK where you can push a button in many different ways. The games in that regard are no different, my friend. However, the difference is that while in TotK and sometimes BotW pushing that button is the puzzle, in older games that’s typically only one part of the major puzzle to be had, that being the whole dungeon itself. Not only are these puzzles far more than ‘push button’ or ‘climb wall’ they’re also longer and in many cases incredibly complex, even requiring multiple visits and backtracking at times with even harder MQ or HM variants. So yes, the older titles were usually objectively superior. It seems you didn’t catch me saying that there was some stinkers though, like the Water Temple in OoT or the main one in Phantom Hourglass you have to backtrack to repeatedly like 7+ times. Those suck. Subjectivity and objectivity mean two different things. Subjectively, I enjoyed TotK and BotW. Objectively the puzzles, lack of real dungeons (longform puzzle boxes, basically), and the shrine system, hurts the game. It could’ve been so much more, but in reality the freedom of movement actually causes a huge problem for how puzzles can be created and how dungeons can be made, which is why they’re all so heavily disconnected. In older titles, you did not have these abilities for movement, and so the dungeon layouts were far easier to create, and the limitations actually had to make you think about achieving the solution. Instead, in BotW you could just windbomb your way through 90% of shrines and Divine Beasts, with the remaining few being easily beaten by just freezing a button after standing on it or by just not sucking at combat. TotK is worse, see a button? Fire a bomb arrow or smack it, or just skip it entirely if the walls aren’t too high. Bypass everything, because god forbid you actually have to do puzzles in a game about puzzles. And yet, people will say “oh but that’s also a solution!” Just like how clipping out of bounds in OoT and voidwarping to the bossroom is a solution to the puzzles? Lmao You can enjoy something and still throw shade at it. My favorite in the series, OoT, is a huge mess of code and very easy to break, the combat is literally ‘mash B’ and yet it’s simplicity comes from it’s age, and that simplicity is what makes it have such interesting puzzle design with neat rooms, and the environmental storytelling is nice too, something BotW nailed with many grim and dark locations and TotK did well at points too like the mysterious abandoned mines and their layout. I think you’re just hellbent on defending the game, even if you actually agree. God forbid you have anything negative to say about the game, right? Now, what was that you said earlier? Something about “projecting?” Lmao
@chooongusbug724
@chooongusbug724 Ай бұрын
@@deathound my guy, being hellbent would mean I blindly defend it. Tears of the Kingdom has its issues, but what you said? No...Not at all. Old Zelda, even the examples you used, wouldn't be objectively better. It all comes down to taste, you want freedom and creativity? Or do you want something more straight forward that doesn't take as much to understand and grasp? Neither are bad, but to act like old Zelda's game design. not just the code either, that's such a non issue with OoT due to when it came out...But the game feeling like a 3d ALttP but less interesting is a bit of an issue regardless of how influential it is. Just like BotW being as empty as it was, that was an issue regardless of how influential and fun it was. What BotW/TotK do right, which is something a lot of people who only played the 3d entries typically ignore, is something that not many games can replicate. There are other open world games, and other open world games now that have a similar feel to exploration. But none of them capture that feeling of exploration as well as BotW and especially TotK. Throwing shade is fine, but when it's at non issues...Like OoT's mess of coding due to it being an early 3d game or the freedom in TotK because someone can't get creative enough to think of something outside of rocket shield, those are non issues. You may not enjoy it, but that's kind of a you issue. How you felt, that doesn't really speak for the majority. But damn, Zelda isn't what it was when I played that one Zelda game when I was 12...time to nitpick
