@1:55 The Qin didn't start the Great Wall of China. It was speed up during the Qin Dynasty. The Zhou state start the wall to get rid the foreign raiders from the north. It continues and build to 700-800 years later. Even with that wall, it doesn't stop invaders from the north.

Who are those northern, foreign invaders? Chin dynasty emperors were those invaders. Many dynasties of Chinese are of those invaders. After Han dynasty, many different people ruled mainland China. Famous one is Genghis Khan. After that Ching dynasty. Lumping all these different people into Chinese is same as calling American as British.

The Han did not replace Legalism with Confucianism. They kept both. They simply vilified Qin Shi Huang. Not the ruling system. That is why some called the Han period the age of hypocrisy. By the way, all Chinese dynasties used both these systems. Up to now!!!

Are historians sure the Qin dynasty was unpopular? I always hear that, but I also always read how the Han historians who are our sources for the Qin seem very hostile toward the latter. How do we know their policies were unpopular (through which methods was this inferred)?

The Qin state before becoming powerful was the sorriest and poorest state in all 7 states. It took the mindset of the Emperor to get foreign scholars to change the poorest country to the most riches and powerful. It depends on patriotic and talented people to change that course. Ying Cheng (later known as Qin Shi Wangdi) wanted to end all wars during that same time period. It was a revolutionary idea because over 200 years of constant warfare. The Qin Dynasty improve in many different areas of China society. Same writing, same unit to measure, help infrastructure stability like water reservoirs and irrigation, roads, same currency, laws and order, recruiting processes and doesn't discriminate.

秦（qin）dynasty to unite the country did these as i know： unify writing language unify measure standard like length，weight unify currency build a centralize government build high ways across the country build canal across the country so that people are connected, people trade when peace, government distribute when disaster happened, which happened frequently in east Asia so unlike western civilization just trade is not enough to live here.

Qin Shi Huang di(始皇帝)is the26th grandson of Lǚ Shàng's(呂尙) and a descendant of Sargon the Great. that is he is not 赢政 Ying Zheng . The historical fact was distorted by Wáng Shìzhēn(王世貞) of Ming dynasty. The Denial of Shi-ji(史記) and Zī zhì tōng jiàn(資治通鑑) must be idiotic.
