I didnt know whether or not to stop laura from shooting nick in the cage and then was too slow trying to shoot Chris, and got Kaitlyn killed while hiding with Dylan so I never got the good ending. Why is Dylan infected in this one?

If you choose to break open the cabin door with Emma in Chapter one, Dylan will get bit in the radio shack, and Ryan will have a choice whether to shoot his arm off or not. If he does, Dylan loses his arm but doesn't turn. If Ryan chooses not to amputate, then Dylan keeps the arm and stays infected, inevitably turning at the Scrapyard.

If you want Dylan to keep his arm and not be infected, just choose not to break into the cabin. However, you won't be able to use the decoy to trick Caleb into going into the freezer in Chapter 10, and you'll miss a clue inside. To save Kaityln and Dylan at that point. You need to keep Emma or Abi or both alive to the storm shelter, where you can find a silver shell. During the final chase in the lodge, they'll pass the shell over to Kaitlyn if she chooses INVESTIGATE when they bang on the door to get her attention, who has to shoot Caleb with it. Or alternatively, have Kaitlyn infected in the Junkyard by making some specific choices (there's a video on that) and Caleb will spare her even if she misses a qte or gets caught.

@@amityamoreyou need to not break into the hut in chapter 1 while playing as Abi, you dont break in, and later in the radio hut, Kaitlyn, Abi and Nick will struggle with the door, leading to Silas focusing on them and then this results in Dylan not losing his hand, hope this helps!

Yes actually! This can save Caleb. Have Kaitlyn fail the QTE as she runs from Caleb, he will scratch/bite her and realize she’s already infected. He will then leave her and Dylan (if he’s still alive in your game) and the scene ends there. As long as you kill Silas at the end, Caleb will be okay.
