fun fact: quartz geodes are not only real, they are one of the most common types of geodes in the world. fun-er fact: amethyst is just quartz that appears purple due to trace amounts of iron trapped inside the crystal lattice of silicon oxide.

Looks like he's doing it with a camera account. I just found out recently it's *very possible* to do it with ReplayMod-even though ReplayMod recordings don't save audio, if you preview your camera path, you can record the audio from that in an external program and layer that onto the video in post.

It's funny how the whole permit thing was a genius idea that completely backfired for basically the same reason that made it genius. You can only go to one person to buy a particular item so that they each equally make a decent profit, but the problem is that you can only go to one person, and so everyone is targeting the redstone nerds who make their own farms for everything and they're willing to give out free handouts because they can't make a profit off the excess stuff they farm anyhow.

@@Ithenna Yep. I was hoping to see supplier deals spring up, but there hasn't been nearly as many of those as I'd expected. I think whoever has the gravel permit has yet to make a shop, for example (unless it's one of the Hermits I don't watch) but Impulse could easily have reached out to them and made a deal to supply them for a cut of the profits.

To solve the issue with the names. consider placing the shulkers backwards so the swirly bit is sticking out! it'll resemble a deposit of some kind that the hermits can grab their quartz out of.

also, shulkerplus lets you use a shulker in an anvil (or smithing table?) to customize whats on top. Its the other one that does it automatically. Fun fact, Iskall actually commissioned ShulkerPlus from KaptainWutax for his Vault Hunters series!

Amethyst is just a violet variety of quartz, with a tiny bit of iron ions, and both amethyst and quartz can form geodes 👍

Quartz is actually quite common in geodes in real life. Amethyst is just quartz with mineral impurities that turn it purple. Amethyst is very often seen growing right next to “Smokey Quartz” which is grey, which might explain why the game turns glass into dark glass that blocks light when Amethyst is applied. There are other colors and associated names that Quartz is known by as well, including: citrine (yellow), rose quartz (pink), aventurine (green), carnelian (red), tiger’s eye (oranges and browns in layers with reflective qualities in some layers), milky (white), and others. Side note, due to Native American cultural influence, geodes in the north west corner of the US are referred to as “Thunder Eggs,” in reference to the legendary “Thunderbird.”

I use the Peek mod, which I'm pretty sure is what Impulse uses, as well as X and I believe Etho. I think i learned about it from Impy. It's a shulker tooltip preview and the text/items on them. You can also use datastrings in the name to set an item that shows up and what the text says. My redstone box says "Redstone" on the front, but is named "'s Redstone Box. and shows a bit of redstone dust on it, while having a bunch of different redstone bitties

Shulkers+ is the mod that handles displaying the items on the box itself, the mod was developed by Iskall and Wutax based on a datapack that Xisuma was playing around with. Shulker Viewer meanwhile is the mod that displays all of the items inside a shulker in the inventory screen. Both mods together are great tools for managing and keeping track of what's in a shulker.

I think it was him that said he wanted some ambiance sounds for his area so I think a shulker triggering a notebox-head to play the ambiance when you're near it would have that nice effect. So, you can hook up the same set-up, but with a pressure plate on every block except the one, and hook it to a piston or repeater to only make the sculk sensor work some of the time. Just a fun way to play around with people proximity.

Best way to unalive yourself quickly multiple times is to make a platform 23 blocks in air with a bed and set your spawn in it with a clean inventory, other than as many instant damage 2 potions as desired. Jump off the platform and quickly throw a potion at your feet. Then you can jump down as many times as you want, falling on a potion and throw it again. Once you get the hang of it, you can do it very fast! I'v killed my player over a thousand times in my world to get all sorts of custom heads for decorations.

These 'slower' timelapses you've been doing are my absolute FAVORITE thing!! So chill, and its almost like getting to see the highlights of someone painting a picture. Fun fact! Amethyst is actually just quartz with a little iron in it. this is why both their crystals are sort of hexagonal pillar shapes. the reason we see a lot of amethyst geodes but not quartz ones is because they're formed as gas bubbles in cooling magma and minerals and such (like iron, for example) can get in there and badabing badaboom, amethyst geode!

With all the work Hermitcraft does with custom models, you might consider trying to recolor amethyst clusters as the regular white quartz to give it a more three dimensional look, make it a true geode.

Hey Impulse. Your bartering farm is not broken, it's just not a good option for quartz if you're after blocks in bulk. It's just one of a myriad of trade possibilities and you'll never get enough of any items you want in bulk without going insane. Villagers are the best option for full blocks and I'd argue mining quartz manually is sometimes faster than trading for the nether variant

Cub is making bank on the horns. Maybe a good shop would be custom audio on heads. Some funny ones like the horns but also ambient noises like birds, waves/beach, seagulls, jungle etc. hermits could put them in their bases like gem did last season with the records. I think jevin has the permit for mob heads. If it falls under his permit you could pitch the idea to him for a partnership. (Otherwise, Good luck at the permit office)
