I'm an American, and this gave me the Goosebumps. I don't know why it made me emotional but it did. It was a beautiful jubilee and prayers to the queen for good health and more years to come. UK has never been on my bucket list but I think that's changed. Would love to go visit.

I am from America and it touches my heart to see how much the Queen is appreciated. I respect her all the more because despite her health, she did not fail her people. It was also admirable to see her with her three generations. I have immense fondness and respect for the Queen, despite never meeting her and not even being a citizen of a Commonwealth country. My entire view of politics shifted when I realized that I probably trust the Queen's personal judgment more than I trust the judgment of any elected official, including the ones I've voted for multiple times. So while I still am and will always be a small-d democrat, I am no longer a small-r republican. I now believe monarchy provides value to a society that an elected head of state does not - and that is entirely down to this monarch and the incredible job she has done.

In return, businesses the length and breadth of the UK benefit from an estimated £106 BILLION tourist pounds from visitors who want to see our historical country. Poorer people don't pay tax and therefore don't contribute one penny to the RF. Don't worry, your benefits aren't affected as you don't pay tax.
