The QUEEN Of Bánh Mì Chảo | BREAKFAST Tour In VIETNAM With My FAVORITE Under $1 Bánh Mì

A quick breakfast food tour today, as it is my last day living in this area. One of my favorite places to not only live, but explore for food. It was really hard for me to leave this area.
First stop at a small home/stall that has three women who constantly cook. I am talking 3 meals a day for 6-7 days a week. However, one of my favorite meals of theirs has to be their morning noodles. I do not even really like bun moc, but I love their version as it is kind of a throw everything into the bowl type of noodles. A broth heavy with fried shallots, garlic, and scallions this broth will fill your soul and stomach to start the day off the right way.
Next up, my favorite $1 Banh mi in all of Saigon. Located in the Ban Co market this banh mi checks all the boxes for me. Loaded with daily made pate, fried eggs, and extra cilantro. Throwing that baguette on the fire before stuffing it is the key to making this the ultimate banh mi. Don’t take my word for it, you have to try this banh mi for yourself.
Final food spot for today, banh mi chao, with a lady running the stall with a personality as big as Saigon. So much fun to always see her and watch her have so much passion and fun. Now, be ready to wait when you come here as these cheap prices and delicious food are loved by many.
Oh and don’t think I forgot about the sweets. Of course I had to get one of my favorites the chuoi chien, aka the fried bananas. Doing them perfectly, I can’t ask for a better sweet treat to finish off this day full of my breakfast favorites.

I've never been to Vietnam but I would love to go one day. Personally, I LOVE Vietnamese food. Absolutely love it. I lived on bahn mi's and pho when I studied at university in Australia. There was a bakery down the street run by an old Vietnamese grandma and grandpa and their son, and my god their food was good. That said, I'm sure the food in Vietnam is the real deal.

I don’t think that is true everywhere. So many of us in the US, at least in the larger cities and suburbs, live in diverse communities and have access to great foods from a variety of cultures. And it’s not just in restaurants, it’s from our children’s friends parents, from community potlucks, places of worship, boosters for sports teams, coworkers bringing dishes for work celebrations, and more. We are a melting pot, and we have great food as a result. When my children eat at their friends’ houses, they will eat according to their hosts’ customs: with their hands, with injera, with roti, with chopsticks, or a fork and spoon. They’ll have their own portion or share a communal platter. They’re kids, they just accept it all and dig in, just the way it should be.

@@DD-xi7kv Good thinking, but once again, restaurants need these kinds of advertising more than these food stalls. Their customers are usually the persons who live nearby, in the same alley just want to grab breakfast before going to work, to school or to the market. "Thap cam" (mean ten different things) is usually the most expensive or the best seller meal. You can also find "dac biet" (men special) with the same meaning in all most every Vietnamese restaurant or food stalls. Anyways, why on earth a Vietnamese like me stuck in the U.S. and an American guy like him can eat all the Vietnamese food I'm craving for right now. It is unfair. I hate Covid that destroys my summer plan to return to Vietnam.

No offense, but there’s plenty of preservatives in the canned mackerel and the lunch meats and pate in the banh mi. There’s plenty of fresh herbs and vegetables too, but all cuisines have their share of unhealthy items. As long as you don’t eat those in excess, you can have a healthy and varied diet anywhere.

We have a local banh mi shop. They actually do a great job. Most everything is homemade from the baguette to the plate and picked veg. They also serve soup with itzhak noodle is wonderful with it. It's the closest I'll get to authentic. Sure would like to try the ones CD you've shown.🥰
