She spread herself around all over the place well before she accused Charles of doing so. She was protected, but in the end we all realised what she was. It's not surprising that people said Charles wasn't Harry's father (he is, of course, because he looks the image of Prince Philip) because she certainly made a name for herself. No wonder Charles felt betrayed. What woman with any decency would denigrate the father of her sons on TV - knowing that those young boys were watching and the next day all their mates would know what she'd said? She was dishonourable, selfish and completely self-interested. Nasty, poisonous, arrogant and self aggrandising woman. Horrible.

Is this what's called 'baiting'??? I loved this documentary about the QUEEN MOTHER and how it makes clear that the Royal Family shouldn't actually be on the throne...the right family tree (if that's how the whole idea works), was disconnected way back hundreds of years ago. Why do the English still have a Royal Family the people support through taxes, by the way...the Queen can't vote or do much without the permission of her government, so other than supporting charities all over the place; going on 'meet & greets'; opening ceremonies and being a figure head...I don't understand why the people still continue with this farce of a 'royal blood line'...just asking...

Sadly Queen Mum couldn't predict those consequences. She was brought up and lived her live believing that what happened in the Royal Family should stay in the Royal Family and certain things weren't ever talked about. If there was anything to talk about it was to be done away from prying ears of any employee. It was taken for granted that man were adulterers and if they did their deeds discretely all was well. The cheated woman was supposed to turn her head and look the other way. As long as outward appearances were kept, no harm was done.

These are normal common emotions most people would have when dealing with infidelity. No mention of sainthood or canonization of sainthood or Diana wanting a title. These are separate issues not to be confused with my three sentence comment.

I'll never get over the Charles would marry that home wrecker Camilla and put her on a thrown. Charles is weak and needed a mother, and Camilla was his mother with benefits. No good is going to come of them. Harry was paid 100 million for his story and after the Queen died he wanted to retract some of what he said. The publishers told him, that wasn't going to happen. We can only hope we will read what kind of people Charles and Camilla really are. Charles and Camilla agreed that Diana was perfect for him to marry as she was so young and could be easily manipulated. William and Kate are the only hope for the royals.

I think, no one of us here was there with them. I think that the queen mother had old values, which does not tolerate to have many lovers during marriage for women. According old values the wife should sit at home with her children, being all the time nice and kind, while the husband has mistresses. I am not saying that this is right or should be tolerate, but time ago women could find their way to have a lover if they wanted during their marriage, but do not gossip about themselves. But the queen mother had her values do not have lover even if your marriage is not good. The mother, wife should be a heart of her family. Otherwise everybody should educate themselves about mental illnesses Diana had. How hard was this for her and how imaginably terrible for her environment. Being ill is nobody's fault, but fact, a really sad fact. But there is most of the time a cure which Diana did not want. The whole story is sad. Diana at least only one lover, but it is too late. Poor Diana she was totally lost but she want win, which was not possible. Megan is smart, she escaped in time and took Harry and a baby with her. For a better, happy life, which of course takes a risk, but they take it. The life is just worth it.

@Farouk04839
@Farouk04839 3 жыл бұрын
It was not considered to be a divorce, since for Henry VIII, his first marriage was not really valid, he did not divorce but got his marriage annulled. In fact, he thought that he did not get a male-heir because he married his late brother's wife, Catherine of Aragon, therefore he thought he was cursed (since there's a verse in the Bible stating that any man marrying his late brother's wife would be cursed). Hence why he broke out from the catholic Church to get his marriage annulled, marry Anne Boleyn, and obtain at last his so desired male-heir, but as you know even Anne Boleyn did not begot him a son, thus he beheaded her and so on so forth.

🤔🤭. How long would you have wanted Princess Diana to wait for her husband to be faithful? One year, four years, maybe five or ten? It didn’t matter because Charles NEVER STOPPED boinking Camilla, and he obviously didn’t care who knew it! Neither did anyone else, unless it became public! There’s legions of women who would have handed him his family jewels in a match box for humiliating her in front of the world the way he did. It apparent that those with “real power” can whack you off at the knees and then use their media accomplices to tear you apart because you’re too damned short! Their affair continued with the aid and assistance of another royal, that allowed Charles and Camilla to secretly use her home to bump uglies! There is zero doubt that a nineteen year old Princess Diana was no match for the power that confronted her.

The Queen Mother could be a vicious nasty snob , extravagant , demanding and insisting on the very best food , clothes and jewellery but the worse thing was when she inspected the Military . My own dear father suffered from her ire because he actually looked at her ... apparently the lower type of soldier , sailor or airman were considered to be part of the Great Unwashed as well as being gun fodder sent to the Front Line . Poor old father was sent to Colchester Glass House because this Queen Mother wouldn't tolerate what she considered to be insubordination .👿👿

The so-called 'nations favourite grandmother' appears to have been a deeply unpleasant racist snob, who was contented for black people and the 'lower orders' to have their place in the world providing they knew where it was and didn't attempt to go beyond it. To her understanding and prejudice, this seemed to mean dependent, powerless and, one way or another, engaged in serving those of higher social rank. In some accounts of her, she is described as being obsessed with lineage; though presumably this only applies to those who have a lineage worth paying attention to. She considered sub-Saharan Africans incapable of shaping their own destiny efficiently, and far better off under colonial rule. She was very much a product of her class and time, where the boundaries people adhered to were inherited and imposed at birth. She certainly wasn't alone in her outlook, which didn't change when attitudes shifted sharply following the second world war and continued in that direction. So in awe of her own prestige and advantage, she wouldn't do anything which might compromise that. You wouldn't expect a self-indulgent, intolerant racist snob like Elizabeth to be a nice person, and you'd be right, as those who married into this chaotic circus of a family has found. I think we can reasonably gauge what she would have thought of Harry's marriage to Meghan - a mixed-race, non Aristocratic, American divorcee. She would probably have required CPR on hearing of his intention. And a bit like the early medieval barons who took pride in their illiteracy, she appears to have gloried in her lack of intellectual sophistication and prowess; there is an account of T.S Elliot being given an audience with her and her family where he read The Waste Land, a privileged experience she was incapable of appreciating. She thought the poem was called The Desert and when corrected said... "I'm afraid we all giggled. Such a gloomy man, looked as though he worked in a bank, and we didn't understand a word".

Why one commentator in this documentary says that “French are not monarchists by nature”? What an odd comment to make. France has been a monarchy for 800 years. The French are not the only one to have killed their King. The British did it too.

@@mc.8391 - My English grandmother, aunts, and my mother were never fond of the Queen Mum, but many British people loved her. Back then, it was radio and news reels. People got to see and hear her at her best. Those who knew her personally had a very different opinion. Books I’ve read describe her as snobbish, spoiled. I watched a video last evening of the RF being greeted at a formal event. Queen Elizabeth II was being very patient as the Queen Mum walked before her to be greeted. Her Majesty and Prince Philip patiently behind her. You see, that says it all……she was the Queen (consort) with George VI for about 15 years, and liked it….a lot. She was not going to give up that position just because her daughter was now the Queen Regent. As protocol demands, she should have entered and been greeted behind her daughter. She put herself ahead of her daughter the entire time she lived at Buckingham Palace with them, when the staff would refer to the Queen, she automatically assumed they meant her. The staff started to call her the Queen, and Queen Elizabeth II was referred to as Her Majesty to differentiate between the two. Finally, she was relocated to her own residence, to ease the confusion. She always put herself first.

The story of Diana can be summarised in a couple of sentences: 1) She married too young into an institution she was ill-equipped to cope with, and her husband couldn't deal with her, nor the Royals. 2) She then make another big mistake of marrying Al Fayed's (an outcast and dubious character in UK) son, and he let a drunken driver from Fayed's Paris Ritz hotel drive her around and he drove at nearly 100mph under a curving underpass bridge at night and she got killed in a car wreck. There's no conspiracy. It was just a tragic life cut short by bad choices by Diana, and problems that she had during her time as Princess (eating disorder, depression, major stress) and an unsupportive husband. But what do you expect from the Royal's they're not normal people.

She was unashamedly snobbish and prejudiced towards " foreigners" particularly jews, indians and Africans. Her private letters display many of those prejudices of her era. She was quite callous towards staff who fell on hard times or needed time with their own families and treated her daughters' governess shamefully. She also schemed behind Prince Philip's back to encourage courtiers to disdain his orders. She was no doubt a loving mother and grandmother though.

Hardly. The Queen Mother was adored by the UK. And she was already quite frail and a back figure by the time Diana arrived on the scene, there was no limelight rivalry. It's more likely the Queen Mother (a commoner herself) just thought damn pull yourself together Diana, you're a Princess and you have a Royal duty and role now, you can't act like a normal person anymore. If you can't handle what's expected of you, you shouldn't have married into this institution. And you definitely don't complain in public about it.

@@paullangton-rogers2390 exactly. The Queen Mother herself married a man who was never expected to succeed to the throne. Suddenly his elder brother abdicated and she and her family had to take on far more onerous roles than they had expected. She supported her husband through thick and thin, whether she wanted to or not, and her country through a long world war, and here’s Diana throwing tantrums in public and whining to anyone that would listen about the problems of her position. The QM didn’t worry about the limelight. She was 90 years old when Diana was carrying on, and her place in the limelight and the British public’s hearts was secure.

The way I understood it, Queen Mum did not welcome Edward back to UK because his abdication put such enormous strain on his brother. That burden arguably shortened her husband's life. This video prefers to claim it was because she feared Edward's past popularity.

Queen Mother liked Camilla than Princess Diana its as simple as that. Btw the title is quite Misleading. The entire video is like Queen mother's Biography nothing to do with Princess Diana

I remember a strange newspaper story that said Charles walked out to his Land Rover where the crowds were watching. A window opened and Diana stuck her head out and yelled. "Don t you do this. Don't you do this to me." No one knew what she was referring to. Charles looked up and heard her and then drove off. In view of what we now know, I think he was going to see Camilla and Diana never wanted him to go.
