There's no better sound in the world than when your drag is pulling a big fish.

Great intro! I've said it before, and I'll probably say it again, but you catch the biggest wipers I have ever seen! Some good fishing. Definitely looking forward to next weeks episode!

Wow. What great catches. I wish we had wipers and flatheads! Another great year with outstanding content. Keep up the great work and I'll keep watching! PS: Proudly wearing my BA stocking hat on the ice again.

Thanks, I'm very thankful for good wiper and flathead fisheries in this state. I hope you can make it down sometime to catch a big wiper! I appreciate your support throughout the years! Merry Christmas!

@@BackroadsAngling I'll save you the trouble. I caught 3 dinks, a ~14" walleye, and snagged a buffalo

I think in the winter time that's a respectable day

You should hit red rock dam for some massive wipers next year! I think the state record one could be in there and you would be the guy to catch it. Take a week off work...

Ya, that's a great spot to catch a giant. I need to spend some time over there! I have a feeling there is a 20lb fish swimming near this spillway as well.

I'm from South Central Nebraska, and wish we had access to more fishing spots like this. Just curious (without being too nosy), what city this is in? I'll never make it to this area to fish... again, just curious. Thanks in advance, love watching your channel!!! 😎😁

If you're in South Central Nebraska, just make your way down to the North Kansas lakes. So many Wiper spots near you

Is a 20lb wiper for Christmas too much of an ask? I think no!

What scale are you using? Would love to see lengths on some of these big ones !
@BackroadsAngling12 күн бұрын
It's a rapala 50lb digital scale. After I filmed the last episode (3rd one) of this series I did a scale calibration which I will show in the last episode. A 15 lb dumbell weighed 14.99-15.01lbs. I also calibrated this scale after I caught my PB last year and a 10lb weight plate weighed between 10.00 and 10.05 lbs (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmfOmKWurq2ei9k).

So hey, are wipers sterile or do they spawn and reproduce???
@BackroadsAngling12 күн бұрын
They are sterile. The females will get eggs in the spring and they will go through the spawning process but nothing comes of it.
@timjohns19112 күн бұрын
@@BackroadsAngling So I can presume they stock every year?? I have caught up to 5 pounds or so but those are monsters brother!! Kudos
@BackroadsAngling12 күн бұрын
Yes, I'm not sure if they stock every year but regularly if they are going to maintain a population. Thanks for watching!
