I was always told NEVER to spray water directly on to a motor because it could affect several things. I personally have pressure washed a few parts but I usually just use a cleaner and a towel. Was I lied to? Seems like it 😆

No, you weren't lied to. You can spray certain parts with water but be very careful when it comes to electrical components and air intakes. Engine blocks, gearboxes and manifolds are usually pretty safe..... usually.

@@M_F754 a couple of my vehicles I have no fear of spraying them but they're older big trucks. I'm scared to death to power wash anything on my 335 or my Volvo.

@@butcherbaker4258 same here. I'd happily wash the engine bay of my little old honda but I'd never wash my M140i. A cleaning product is as much as I'd dare

The engine is designed to be water resistant, most cars engine compartments are completely open to the elements from underneath. It’s the equivalent of car fuddlore to not wash your engine. Just don’t spray pressurized water directly into computers or fuse boxes and you’ll be fine
