Where did you get the ruler with the handle. I would like to order one

We sell those at the shop. The gripper is: www.sewcharmingquiltshop.com/shop/c/p/Omnigrid-Ruler-Grip-Double-Suction-Cup-White-x69063727.htm We have lots of rulers. They can go on most any ruler. There is also a smaller grip.

Why 4-7/8? Why not 5” or 4-1/2?

You could alter the pattern to whatever size you want.
