Major parties are making big promises about giving jobs to the youth in the Punjab elections. Unemployment is a huge issue in the state and nothing highlights it better than the stories of Mohit, an Electronics and Communication engineer working as a coolie at the Bathinda Railway Station and his wife, Navita, who’s pursuing an MTech but still doesn’t have a job.

From the comments itself we can see how we have been molded that, politics is better in the hands of illiterate and criminals, as they will find a way out at any cost( literally at any cost). There is a blanket statements that idiots may be well off in understanding complex problems. That's why we haven't gone much farther, in the last couple of decades. If you look at Delhi government, a significant work is being done even though the centre doesn't want any credit to go to them as the rest of the country will start asking report card on what was done in last 5 years during their tenure. Arvind, sisodia, atishi, bharadwaj and many more young and new educated faces have shown a way forward for India, that it's possible if you have the will. I would say younger population need to come out and educate the need for choosing reps wisely to common public. It's each one's responsibility, since we have large section of population both economically weak and having less access to education, who can be manipulated during election time. Unless we make wise decision in chosing qualified and credible "Representatives" ( not Leaders) without criminal background, there is no solution to this epidemic. It will take time, but we need to make right choices going forward. Whatever damage this govt and previous govts have done, is no yardstick, on how fast we can recover from this mess.

So rightly said, we are already on the verge to completely making everything robust. This will reduce the number of people employed and increase the consuming population. The needs won't decrease as due to growth in population. Although it is estimated that population will eventually become stagnant at some point, but why don't we take steps to do so. Ask the people, it there is anything really free, it's information. Spread the awareness. I myself don't mind adopting a kid rather than producing one. All other species have competition to survive, we don't have competition in that perspective, we have it but in terms of standard of living and all that bullshit. Doing engineering from any college doesn't mean you'll land a good job, there's a reason companies only want engineers from certain colleges. This is the same thing as garbage in, garbage out. As a software engineer i can only tell you one thing, along with your curriculum master a certain programming language.

Aditya Mandal Freelancing!! That's how I started. Once you build up enough reputation for yourself companies start noticing you. And eventually you start getting calls from them. You could either continue as a freelancer or accept a job. It takes time but it'll work out eventually. Atleast it worked out for me.

So, what knowledge are you talking about. The job as per qualifications and knowledge level are not available , the jobs that are offered in IT sectors are no better than the job of a sweeper.

But the rules & legal procedures and lack of willingness of government officials in West Bengal, almost killed my start-up. Now my company is growing, because of a firm from Singapore. They have a much easier rules for start-up to survive. So, if our government can't help the private companies, how can private firms can do business & give jobs to locals?

See sir I'm not in support of any party but there is a difference between getting a degree and seeking good education , if he needs to find better mode of employment he should migrate because if you have a degree that doesn't means you are capable for the job because kids in India , they bunk colleges they pass out exams by just filling up the supplementaries and by submitting incomplete assignments the curriculum of education is not important for them , and they don't tend to learn anything outside the classroom also , if we guys can't revolt for this kind of education system and colleges we should not ask for jobs because jobs should be upon your ability and skills , which lack due to you were busy with some girl in the park , or you were just drunk or high whole semester in a dirty pg or flat
