A few points. The exhaust, spoiler blade and end caps are aftermarket. Speedometer is also an upgrade. They all came with 180kmh clocks and lower redlines. Also they updated the steering wheel and seats in later models. And if anyone buys this car please get some security on it. Immobiliser and also some locking wheel nuts. I love that even Mr. Quirky himself completely missed the most quirky button in the whole interior of the R33 GTR, and that is the button for the power antenna under and behind the steering wheel. It lets you choose between extending the antenna fully or only halfway, to look more cool and recieve less i guess. Also worth pointing out is the dual action lever for opening the trunk and the tank lid next to the driver seat, pull to release the trunk and push to open the tank lid. And for the exterior especially, the R33 has really nice looking taillights! when they light up they have individual rings inside that illuminate to resemble the look of a jet engine afterburner. Really cool looking and no other skyline has that 3D effect in the tail lights. Btw the front lip is painted on this car it used to be black from the factory. The side markers should be amber aswell. The Nismo gauge cluster was optional or installed afterwards (you could buy them seperatly aswell), the rear wiper was optional, not all GTR's have them. the fake carbon GTR emblems on the spoiler sides were optional aswell, the rear wing blade is aftermarket, stock they are painted body color without the lip at the end of the blade. Loved the video! Been a 1995 R33 GTR V-spec owner for 12 years now, finally Doug has reviewed it!

Love the video and I'm glad you finally got around to reviewing an R33! A few additions: Every R32-R34 GT-R has a different fundamental hood shape than the regular Skyline it's based on, but the R33 takes that to another level: the headlights are about an inch farther forward than they are in the standard coupe and sedan! It's almost impossible to notice unless you're an unfortunate Skyline owner who bought a hood meant for a GT-R and discovered it wouldn't fit. Because this is a '95 "S1" car, the airbag steering wheel is considerably dorkier than it is for the '96-'98 cars, which got the same steering wheel as the '96-'98 Silvia K's. The "S1" also had slightly different interior panels, most noticeably the dashboard, because the '96 and later cars got a passenger side airbag and the entire dashboard needed to be recontoured to fit the airbag controller module. The '97-'98 "S3" cars had red accents in the interior where the "S1" and "S2" had blue accents. This means that there are three versions of the door interior panels for the GT-R, one for each revision! It's actually unclear to me why the "hump" in the passenger footwell is there. The front transfer case actually creates an even bigger intrusion into the *driver's side* footwell! In addition to having special front seats (which are shared with the R32 GT-R), the R33 GT-R also has different rear seats than the regular Skyline coupe! And the R33's back seat should be the most comfortable of the trio, as the R33 has a longer wheelbase than the R32 or the R34. Contrary to popular myth, though, the R33 is actually lighter than the R34, and that is even more true of the regular cars. The suspension in the non V-Spec car was significantly softer than either the R32 or R34, though, and this led a lot of journalists to perceive that the R33 *feels* heavier.

7:45 - the turn signals are on the right in all JDM cars, as far as I'm aware. A right hand drive/turn signal stalk on the left situation is I think more of a British market thing, when you've got, say, a Peugeot 206 that you sell in both right hand drive and left hand drive, and to cut manufacturing costs you have the same sort of steering column and stalks. I drive a 2001 Honda Inspire, which is essentially an Acura TL (it was even made in the US and then shipped to Japan), but it still has the turn signal switch on the right, strangely.
@Lando-kx6so2 жыл бұрын
Not all JDM cars, European & American JDM cars have the turning stalk on the left & in all RHD markets except for the ones in Europe (UK, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus) the turning stalk remains on the left no matter where the car's from. Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indian, & Malaysian made vehicles have the turn stalk on the right whilst all the others have it on the left in every other RHD country

@@Lando-kx6so From an Australian RHD experience, all Japanese cars manufactured in Japan or Australia have the stalk on the right. I think usually it depends on the origin of the car - you could walk into a Ford dealership and buy a euro-built Focus with the signals on the left, or a Falcon with them on the right. Likewise with Holden, jumping from left for the Astra to right with the Commodore. One thing I'm not sure of - did they swap the stalk to the left when the Commodore was exported to the US as a Pontiac?

Prob has more to do with the fact of trade between UK and Europe. keep it the same as euro cars since most in UK have easiest access to euro cars and UK cars are prob most often shipped to Europe (lessens the friction for drivers). @@dontworrybout2664 yeah it gets a lot of attention. Sometimes because people assume it's got 1000bhp and can run 7sec quarter miles. People definitely put it on a pedestal like it's world's ahead of any other performance car. It's got a very big overhead for more power but it gets expensive. Mines running just over 500whp on 2860-5 twins and it's much more of what I imagined a GTR to be. But modern cars are able to get the power down much more efficiently. I forget what chanel done a video on the 32, 33 and 34 GTR's doing drag times. They're all tuned to over 800whp. The scoreboard shows an Audi RS3 with 500whp ran the quarter mile only a few fractions of a second slower with a few hundred bhp less.

Nowadays Nissan makes mediocre cars. The R35 came out in 2007 for Japan and 2009 for US. I was in preschool in 2008-2009 when the R35 came out. I graduated high school a week ago, and they still exist. I don’t care about Toyota refreshing the Land Cruiser, Tundra or Sequoia every 15 years or so because they are so reliable, but Nissan still making the same car after 15 years is really lazy. I know Nissan is not doing the best financially but if they do get enough money, they should spend it all on an R36. Maybe make a mid engine V8 to compete with the C8 Corvette, Ferraris and mclarens. When the R35 debuted in 2007, the S197 Mustang was 2 years old, and during that time, the 6th gen Mustang came out the S550. Now it’s almost the end of the S550 gen and in 2024 the 7th gen S650 Mustang is coming out, and I bet that the R35 will still be made. Way to go Nissan 😂

It is actually make more sense to have indicators to the right if you drive on left side of the road. It does. That's the way my 93 Cappuccino is laid out and it just makes sense. Years ago I rented a Peugeot in the UK and it was on the left. Regarding the turn signal and wiper stalks in right hand drive cars, the reason some cars put the turn signal stalk on the left and others do it on the right is based on where the car was manufactured. It's common for a lot of European cars with a right-hand drive configuration to put the turn singnal stalk on the left, wheas Asian right-hand drive cars and Australian market cars put the turn signals on the right. I live in Australia which is a right-hand drive country and I own two cars, a 1993 BMW E36 318i, as well as a 2000 Ford AU Falcon XR8, which was built and designed in Australia. The BMW has it's turn signal stalk on the left of the streeing wheel, whereas the Falcon has it on the right side of the steering wheel. Other cars my family have owned have been other model Falcons, a couple of Holden (GM) vehicles, as well as a few Asian cars in the past from Toyota and Hyundai. All the Australian and Asian models had their turn signals on the right hand side of the wheel. However, my parents also had a 90s Land Rover Discovery, and my Uncle also owned a Discovery of the same generation as well as a Saab 900S, both of which had their turn signal stalk on the left, just like my BMW does, which proves my theory that it's a European thing to put the turn signals on the left, which makes sense as most European cars that are right-hand drive are left-hand drive conversions, so they don't bother moving the turn signal and wiper stalks to their correct position for right-hand drive markets.

It was known as the gentlemans agreement. 276 bhp is 280ps. But most manufacturers were putting far more potent cars out there. The UK 3000GT was rated at 282 bhp & there was apparently a very simple way to wind up the boost to make 320 bhp. They weren't unsafe it was just a little white lie. Look at the Germans & the 155 mph limited top speed, most Audis were topping out at 175 mph before they'd hit the limiter.
