Hats off to the late David Warner, Nichelle Nichols, and Kevin Conroy. I was reminded of this episode the week after Warner passed away (July 31), when it was disclosed that Nichols has passed away just the day before. And come November, Conroy joined them both. 2022 truly was a lousy year. By their works shall we know them, and though they are no longer with us, there is all the more reason to appreciate Warner's, Nichols' and Conroy's contributions. Cheers, one and all.

Bruce was putting on the act with Lucius because Lucius does not know he's Batman. Lucius knowing his identity and creating his gadgets was an invention of the Nolan movies and was used in the Arkham games and may be the case in the current comics now, but it wasn't a thing at this time.

Bruce IS doing an act with Lucius. The main tell is Kevin's doing the 'Bruce Wayne' voice there which Bruce only uses in public, or otherwise around people who don't know he's Batman. If you compare it with the scenes of Bruce talking to Talia, he's using Batman's voice, the 'true' voice, because he's himself with Talia.

Man, season 2 is nothing but an absolute feast of excellent episodes. I forgot how awesome this one was. Ra’s al Ghul just brings out the old timey pulp adventure stories that we just don’t get to see anymore in comics.

Luscious doesn't know that Bruce Wayne is Batman in this universe. He isn't as important of a character as he was in the Nolan trilogy (which changed how Luscious was used in later Batman stuff like the Arkham games and such).
