I study psychology, and theres a phenomenon called the "normative social clock", which dictates age-appropriate behaviours or changes (such as the right time to graduate, get a job, get married...etc.) unrelated to individual differences or capability. People are socially pressured to stay within the confines of this clock, rushing to hit these milestones at the supposed right time. I love this video as its basically calling to defy the clock, to embrace the idea of having your OWN life free of social expectations and to decide your own pace.

I genuinely teared up watching this. It's just so powerful and true to where I'm at right now. It's so easy to compare yourself to the idealised versions of peoples lives you see online. It's so easy to feel like you're falling behind... "Comparion is the theif of Joy." But to put it into the perspective of a race, we each run at our own pace really changed something for me. I've never been the sharpest tool in the shed all my friends are in uni even my younger cousins are in uni and I have been thinking about my life. "What have I been doing?" I ask myself everyday. Everyone is moving and it just feels like I'm the only one stuck. I constantly compare myself to them and sometimes, I even withdraw myself from them. this is a really amazing mini movie. first of all, the way it's edited: the bgm jazz, making you feel at ease and even relaxed, the soothing background of fluffy white snow - in a way, it's kind of a metaphor. the white snow is like a blank slate, which makes sense when you think about the purpose of the video--- it's a place where one can project their own experiences with the fear of falling behind and comparing one's own shortcomings to others' successes and realize that not everyone runs at the same pace. everyone's doing their own thing, so you'll only feel happy when you're truly content with yourself, not with what everyone else thinks of you. as someone who constantly feels like i'm not doing enough, like i'm not good enough compared to my fellow highschoolers, this is very comforting. thank you, leo, and keep it up.

I have been looking for a job for about a year now, I graduated last june with a CS degree and started looking for a job a semester before that thinking that I could get a job by the time I graduated Seems like, that is not meant to be ... Or at least not for now...
