You could hand me 20 scripts and ask which one I thought Damian Lewis would choose - I would have immediately put anything supernatural on the bottom of the pile. Band of Brothers and Billions are two of my favorite series ever - I guess we are seeing more of a great actor's range. I hope this film isn't savaged by critics who automatically dismiss horror films.

It doesn't matter what stuck up critics say; look at most movies on 'Rotten Tomato', everything that gets a thumbs up from critics, gets canned by the general audience, and stuff that the general audience loves, the critics don't like. When the general audience see's a trailer like this; they'll get asses in seats to watch it. Asses in seats gets more asses in seats, and more asses in seats make box office film successes. Critics do fuck all; they're glorified reviewers who over-think everything. They're the kind of person who stops and stares at their shit for ten minutes to contemplate before they flush.

If one removes that vampire plot, situations like that in the UK happen all the time because self-defense is a crime. Where the victim is attacked, kills the attacker, but has to hide the action because the state says it is a crime to be a victim of a crime, while allowing such attackers to roam free. If such a situation had happened in the U.S., in a rural setting, depending the location, the defense would have been found justified, or swept under the rug.

If someone hits you and you retaliate and beat the living shit out of them, it won’t be seen as proportionate. Look up the criminal justice act. If it was a crime to report being a victim of crime, nobody would do it would they? I know plenty of people who have been burgled or assaulted and they don’t get charged with a crime. That would be preposterous. Suspect you’re not getting the full story.

Looks like a modernized Dracula film being done competently for a change. Notice Radley's brother had to ask to be invited in. And you notice Damian's character seems to have all the females under a spell. It looks like they are honoring the original vampire lore. I just hope (for the studios sake) the trailer music, is not the movies cinematic soundtrack.

In Dracula, vampires could go into the sun, but because they liked like the dead people they were, they preferred the dark. The original Nesgeratu movie from the 30's made their vampire so strong that the director didn't know how to kill him at the end of the film. Someone suggested opening up the heavy velvety drapes in the run and let the sun do it. So, that is why vampires were shown to die in sunlight.

Well, I think it tells that before in the genre, you were safe out in the sun but when it set, you were vulnerable to the terror of the vampires. Now, you are not safe at anytime, day or night.
