The RAF's New G-Force Rig Will Spin You Until You Vomit

One of the toughest forces military pilots have to deal with is gravitational force, or G-force. To make sure they can handle this while in the air, they have to practice an anti-G straining maneuver on the ground, by spinning around in a centrifuge while controlling a flight simulator.
WIRED senior editor Gian Volpicelli visits the new Thales High-G Training Facility at an RAF base in Cranwell, Lincolnshire, to learn how pilots train to cope with forces of up to 9G - and has a go himself.

I myself know I'll probably never do something like that in my lifetime. But I would love to see it all in action someday. Stay safe and strong during these strange times we live in.❤

Jean, PLEASE dont deny yourself. Trust me, most pilots or to-be pilots have a greatest enemy. That greatest enemy is thereselves. Self elimination is what wipes out MORE than half of the recruiting pilots. Please dont think you cannot do this, as 9/10 times you actually could! I have a friend who is now an RAF pilot. He self eliminated himself at first, and thought he never had a shot at accomplishing his dreams in the first place. I told him how the most dangerous enemy is the person who self eliminates. He took another shot, and guess what- HE IS A EUROFIGHTER TYPHOON PILOT! And please remember, even if you have a disability which makes it hard to join, if you have the confidence you will be almost guaranteed to join! Please have faith in yourself. Even the most talented people in the world self eliminate. You could be more talented than you think, dont let yourself crush your dreams!
