the Martial Arts called "Pencak Silat" . its originaly from Indonesia. Well actually Indonesia has a lot Original Martial Arts, but only Pencak Silat showed here. anyway, in this 2 vs 1 fight, those 2 were good guy, and the other was bad guy, called "Mad Dog". u need to watch this movie from begining, cause there was a lot of good fight scene

The training puts emphasis on respiration techniques and how to adsorb attacks into your body. There's a video of him kicked by a fans in his chest and he just smile like it never happened.

Nice review from you guys! Anyway, if you don't mind me sharing my thought... I loved this movie because it really reflects the raw human instinct to survive. Even the aggressors (the gangsters) started out all gung ho and in the they had to fight for their lives too. I think we could really feel the desperation of Rama and Andi to defeat Mad Dog's superior skill. Amazing movie.

Great reaction. It was also entertaining since you hadn't seen the film before and first thought that the bad guy was the good guy, which I can see, since it was 2 vs 1, and normally it's the good guy that is fighting against the numbers. Also liked the part at the end of trying to guess why they are fighting to the death. "Did he steal their money and not pay them back?" lol

It was pretty amusing watching you guys think the solo guy was the good guy the whole fight. The protagonist is the guy in black, he's part of the police force and the whole movie is about a police raid on a mob run building that goes bad and the guy in black trying to survive and escape. Its similar to the latest Dredd movie if you've seen that. This is an Indonesian film and they are using Pencak Silat which I believe has similarities to Muay Thai where they both utilize elbow and knee strikes. This whole movie is great and you guys should def check out the other fights as well. Another amazing film with great fights is The Man From Nowhere. It's a Korean movie and its basically Taken and Man of Fire smashed together. Its awesome and on Netflix if you guys have that. Highly recommend.

Trivia: Pencak Silat masters can use a unique breathing technique so that they can't feel the pain temporarily. The bad guy (2 vs 1 of the 1), play by (one of) the fight choreographer of this film, use this technique to fight with two guys. The result is a mostly improvised fight scene you see here. Along with their ability to control their muscle (so that no one is injured) and constant aim towards weak spots, as expected because it's Pencak Silat, this is the best "chaotic beauty" type of fight scenes ever captured on film. Oh, Donnie Yen vs Wu Jing in SPL (2005 from Hong Kong) comes very close to that title.

And a ritual dance that can call the ancient spirit to make u invulnerable called kuda lumping ritual, a dance with a 40kg giant fur mask that is lifted by using your teeth called reog ponorogo and many other else, and Ma'nene traditional ritual that makes the dead walks again

It's an ancient martial arts call Solat (pronounced as; See-Lat). Its originates from Indonesia, a south east Asia country. It has a mixture of multiple strikes (punch, chop, elbow, kick, knee, stomp, etc). Silat and Muay Thai may seem similar but if you learn Muay Thai or Silat, you will see the distinct difference between the 2. Silat is practiced in Malaysia too as the some of the Malays are originally from Indonesia. I'm Malaysian and a student of Muay Thai, Silat is really tough to learn as there are many moves to learn. Well, any martial arts are tough to master.

*spoiler alert 2 guys vs 1 guy nicknamed Mad Dog The 2 guys are good guys and they're brothers. The one with black clothes is the younger of the two, his name is Rama. The older brother got involved with the wrong crowds -- drug lord. And Rama is a "rookie" SWAT member team, and planned to raid said drug lord's nest. In the beginning of the movie, it was shown that Rama is a faithful moslem, gets up early in the morning for shalat, respects his father, loves his wife, and going to have a child soon. Yes, his wife is pregnant. It's a good setup to make the audience rooting the protagonist from the start. I remember watching this movie in theater, every time there was a fight scene, I dreaded every time Rama got hit/punched/kicked/etc, because I want him to go back to his family alive.
