I remember finishing this raid with my uncle, reliving the gameplay through this video makes me hear his voice and the joy we had the first time we killed that king, we used to make theories about future content and about the darkness but sadly he passed away this year, the last raid we did was The Leviathan. Now that the darkness is coming it's sad how he could never see or get to beat their ass. I still play destiny 2 sometimes, dedicating every game I play to him. Rest in Peace Tito Chard love you and we miss you.

Agreed. Within 2 weeks of the original kings fall coming out I would run it 6-8 times a week with various squads, mostly new. It was always challenging and fun, especially every time it got a buff/challenge that made it harder to run. To this day it’s still my favorite raid, and damn do I miss it

I played this with three of my friends. The fireteam had only 4 people so every week we had to go on to the forum and recruit people. Met some really cool guys and really enjoyed this raid. Still remember the first time beating oryx, and the first time flawless the hard mode. That was the gap year between college and work. Good old days. Just came back to D2 and keep telling my new fireteam how cool this raid was. Sounds like a veteran from WWII trying to tell grandsons war story.

But I agree well makes for some pretty copy and paste dps phases in destiny 2. I mean in destiny 1 usually we would just gather in the bubble but I mean now there is like no other way to dps. Your description of the Oryx encounter is how I felt every single time trying to sherpa people through that raid. You just could never tell the entire encounter at once. My team was pretty under leveled on day 1 (265 to 280). As best we could tell, we actually got to Warpriest pretty quickly; some streams we were watching were still behind us. Given our low light level, we actually had to do 3/0/3 in the Totems encounter, as we couldn’t kill the boomer knights fast enough to not get ganked on the totems, and whoever was putting their buff into the plate would immediately run back to their side when done. Warpriest took us HOURS though, half of that from understanding the mechanics and the other half from just trying to get enough DPS. By the time we finished Warpriest, the fastest teams were on Oryx. We ended up quitting on Golgoroth, as we figured out the mechanics pretty quickly be just didn’t have the DPS to win. Still an amazing day 1 experience even if we didn’t win.

I always loved this raid...I used to run this raid if I got super bored, and did everything for all of my characters...I would just find fireteams who had a spot open for one more person and run through with them even though I've done it already that week...My favorite memory was when my usual raid group decided to wipe for some reason, but I decided to be stupid since Oryx had a sliver of health left, I wanted to see how much damage I could do before he killed me...The response to me actually managing to kill him was deafening.

This is the second raid I have played and the first one Ive done properly ( I did vault of glass before kings Fall but only rushed because I wanted no time to explain) and it is and will always be my favotrite raid and also fhe reason I love destiny

I still feel they had tips from someone at Bungie prior to the raid. I remember many saying the same thing back in the day. The publicity this raid’s world’s first got was mainly due to who completed it, the most popular Destiny content creator at the time.

This raid had some of my favorite drops, I thought all the harrowed guns were the coolest things ever. But I ever only got past the war priest and got a few guns and armor from it. Love the video btw. Keep up the fire content🔥

I will always have fond memories of this raid, as it really cemented the core 6 players of my clan that I play with to this day. We've even met each other outside of the game, and this raid more than any other may be the reason why we all stuck with this game for so long

not until the subclass got rebalanced with (i think?) the april update for ttk. before that it increased the burn damage to a point that was broken in pvp and less useful in pve

We NEED another hive raid, hive raid armor is easily my favorite. Crota’s end and king’s fall were both my favorite raid looking raid armor. Especially with those sexy ornaments I remember there’s a taken splotch near the door of the sisters and my dad said it was a portal, so I jumped into it and died
