I feel like people don't realize that in the Atheon encounter when your doing damage you can use the relic's super it does pretty good damage and if you use it three time it gets rid of the relic letting you not worry about the timer.

The shadow keep title screen theme is Savathūn’s song, as you know. It is in a slightly different key than the oracle’s one. However, the second part is a key higher compared to the first part.

Our day one team had some special callout for witch side we got ported. Anakin and Mogli. I guess they are self explanatory.

My team ended up using an analog clock formation with Atheon being the center and the big glass doorway being 12:00. So our calls ended up being 12, 2, 4,, 6, 8, 10 going around clockwise. I'm just glad everyone on my raid team knew how to read an analog clock. Also we went into this raid completely blind for our day 1 clear and it was a ton of fun. We didn't get to challenge mode cause we beat Atheon at just under 12 hours of raiding and we were super tired.

My team fell at atheon during day 1 do to time constraints. I'm still proud of our team for making it that far considering It was our first day 1 raid. We even managed to keep up with some of the big teams up until gatekeeper.

Hotswapping should not go away simply because it doesn't harm anyone. It's hard to learn and it pays off because you can 1phase bosses close to you. I don't understand the people that want it to be gone, literally nothing changes for you. It's accessible to everyone who wants to learn it and gives another skill ceiling for the game. Maybe I'm just salty because I really love doing it, but I kinda think that the people who want it gone just don't want to learn it themselves and don't want other people to have a possibility to do more damage than them. Well the problem with hot swapping is the fact that you shouldn’t be ABLE to one phase a boss unless it’s tied to mechanics that cause it. Think about riven, a well designed and challenging encounter for pinnacle loot simplified to a DPS check that isn’t even that challenging. Most people have never even had to fight riven correctly because of this. Sure it makes riven more accessible but raids shouldn’t BE accessible. It should push you out of your comfort zone to get the absolute best loot in the game. Sadly this isn’t the case for most raids. That’s just my opinion though, considering how bungie makes raids nowadays I think hot swapping is fine I guess. I definitely can’t do it because I don’t know how on console but it doesn’t matter because my DPS with anarchy is still insane even while normal swapping shotguns with auto loading.

I think my favorite part about vog coming back was being able to run it with people that never got to and leading them through, it felt good to get deja vu of my old raid team and the stupid stuff we did and our first time entering the vault while leading a new group of guardians through that and telling the stories along the way trying old strats and owning with the new ones it felt great to remember the joy from all those years ago.

As a bit of a VoG specialist, I’d like to make a few corrections. - In the opening encounter, Minotaur spawn locations were increased to 6 from 4 in D1. Also, the plates started pre-built in D1, but not in D2. - Oracle spawns were never random in D1. - One additional gorgon was added in the D2 version, and there were minor structural changes made to the labyrinth (and, in fact, the Templar and Atheon rooms too). - Gorgon AI were changed such that they “hear” certain sounds that they didn’t in D1, and also completely ignore sparrows (which used to be very loud to them). - This video neglected to mention the cleansing properties of the relic in both Templar and Gatekeeper, which are present in D1 but completely absent in D2. - Mars is past, Venus is future. - The *actual* difference in Atheon damage is that Time’s Vengeance no longer buffs weapon damage exclusively. This means that in D2, supers and grenades are more viable as a damage option, whereas in D1 they were mostly a waste of time. - The relic holder could always assist with damage. It was never a function of the relic timer; it was just that the relic was better used as a shield due to the lack of Well in D1. - Gatekeeper duo is still possible, and has already been done post-patch.

Great video! My team was pleasantly surprised when we saw that we were moving on to Atheon and some teams were still figuring out Templar. Gave us a slight confidence boost as a team that is able to figure out encounters and coordinate together.
