He didn't make the leviathan. When he was ursurped from power, those that overthrew him made this so it would seem like he would enjoy his banishment. He was still a beloved emperor during his reign so the conspirators had to do this to placate the masses.

Jay Patel you are right about him being usurped but he did build the leviathan and used it as a pleasure boat prior to being usurped. When he was exiled they preprogrammed and locked the navigation system so it could not controlled from within the ship. Not even that, there are I believe two adventures on Nessus that foreshadow Calus. I know one directly name drops him and ends with Cayde cutting comms to go find Ikora the second he realizes we're talking about a Cabal Emperor. But I believe there is a second adventure that indirectly foreshadows Calus or at least the Leviathan. Calus wasn't as "Out of left field" as many people think he was. He was name dropped in the Red War campaign and name dropped again on an adventure on Nessus, with Cayde freaking out. So we knew something was up.

For me personally, The Leviathan raid is one of my most memorable of all raids, the underbelly is for me one of the most unique feature connecting the whole raid together, and till this day I can still remember it even the password lever to access the underbelly although I'm not play Destiny 2 anymore after the Season of Dawn 2019. It was one of the greatest journeys to create plenty of friendships that I keep till today, the learning experience, and giving that to new players and teach them how to do it from the mechanics to the tips to the shortcut of the underbelly! Everytime we kill ads in the throne room, we always prepare to hear Calus hand door clapping noise as if we want to CLAP THOSE CHEEKS OF CALUS. The mechanics are strong, sound, different variety of them makes it never bored, and everyone gotta know their part, A TINY MISTAKE could lead the whole team to wipe in hell. Over hundreds of runs + prestige, I can feel the excitement to do it with different people, it wasn't not just a chore for pinnacles or specific items I need, it was about enjoying with my squad and having funny moments to remember. And yes those FREAKING SWEET SHADERS. Oh I love that one Titan use bubble in the bathroom, you know what I mean... >w=

Leviathan is actually my favourite raid in all of destiny. I’m a day 1 d1 player so I was there for vault, crotas end etc. but for some reason just really connected and enjoyed leviathan. It’s the only raid I enjoy teaching aswell, I think because of the way the encounters are designed you can walk people through a lot of what they need to do without starting the encounter. For example with riven, it’s very difficult to explain the fight without starting and actually progressing through since people need to see all the different rooms. Anyway just my 2 cents. :)

I never played D1 and this was my first raid ever. I got to ve honest, no matter how many raids i do, i always come back to this one. I was in one of the top 10 fire teams to complete it and it was a blast. I still remember my own clan talking shit about this raid because they were comparing it to D1 raids, but i really liked it. I just hope i am not the only ome.
@AdrianArmbruster4 жыл бұрын
I'd say this Raid is still the most mechanically sound of D2's raids (and I've done all of them but Last Wish, which from what I've observed is also pretty solid) -- rarely do I feel cheated from a wipe, nothing requires the coordination of a Navy Seal Team like some aspects of Garden or SoS, and it's not a glorified strike like Eater of Worlds.
@schooper.4 жыл бұрын
Brandon Choate garden doesn’t require navy seal coordination I’m sorry
@AdrianArmbruster4 жыл бұрын
@@schooper. Eh, I've beaten every element aside from the harpy-boss with relative ease, but something run-endingly bad always goes down on the boss-eye-shooter-team's end. Spire of Star's boss is more what I have in mind with regards to requiring every member of a random LFG team to run up and down the map like that one sport in Fantastic Mr Fox.
@schooper.4 жыл бұрын
Brandon Choate I will agree with the spire comparison tho, you have a very very short time to get your teams shit together or you’re getting wiped lol

@@schooper. i spent 6 HOURS on that goddamn boss I beat every other encounter in 30 minutes but the boss and the motes flying everywhere glitching through the floor. The boss facing the wrong way during damage phase. It was altogether horrible. But for some reason its my favorite raid.

As someone who only played through the first Destiny a handful of times with no DLC experience, going into D2 was actually super fun. The campaign was enjoyable, especially the opening sequence and the social City area at the end. I'm a filthy casual who just liked exploring the planets and doing public events and lost sectors, so i never felt like the double primary thing was an issue.
@TigerBears114 жыл бұрын
As a Destiny 1 veteran, I promise you you’re not alone. D2 year 1 had its flaws, but I loved it for the most part, and while the double primary system took some getting used to I never really got the hate surrounding it.
