The Aviating Railfanner then it eould be close to Chicago. Cause basically the bottom right corner near milwaukee is Chicago at the top right. So then it would be in both the states. By some on needs to reskin 2100 for Trainz. Because K&L made a frieght, rambles, american freedom, Chessie steam special, d&h 302, and a BMR one. They are just missing 2100's now scheme and its AUX.

I worked behind her in 1991. The engine was 2102. I was with the engine in close to 100 days before she died on October 25, 1991. I have volunteered for the crew in the coaches. @@thestarlightalchemist7333 The 1352 is a forlorn and forgotten icon of America's industrious past, also owned and cared for by the American Steam Railroad. A former Frisco 2-8-2, she has been stored for several years in Taylorville, Illinois. It will take $100,000 to fund her move to Cleveland. She'll return to steam someday soon...

eric oxner its not the engine that pulled the AFT it was one of his sister engine #2101 which sits in the B&O roundhouse museume there are four of them 2100 prototype engine 2101 used in AFT and chessie steam special the 2102 used in the delaware & hudson cintennial as disguised as D&H 302 and then owned by the Reading & Northern still in plan of restoration and 2124 only used on the iron horse rambles or (reading rambles) and it sits in steam town PA and all of them used in the reading rambles

While I'm glad to know that the Reading T1s will return to steam in the forms of 2100 and 2102, I think that enthusiasts are most likely to see the 2102 in action once again after a quarter of a century since she has had a headline excursion career of about 32 years beginning with the Reading Iron Horse Rambles compared to her other surviving sisters.

Yes. But it's spelled "Vanderbilt," because it was invented by a descendent of "Commodore" Vanderbilt, the man who created the New York Central Railroad. Ironically, the NYC did not have even one steam locomotive equipped with a Vanderbilt tender.

$700,000.00 to return this engine to service? Based on the known costs of returning smaller engines to service, a figure of at least $2,000,000.00 seems more realistic.
@jppicur8 жыл бұрын
Cost depends on what work needs to be done and to what extent volunteer labour can be employed. Indications in the video are that the locomotive is basically sound and doesn't need a lot of work. That they expect to have it running in about a year's time also suggests fairly minimal amount of work necessary. Some of those small locomotives you refer to have taken years to rebuild, with the costs escalating with the amount of labour involved.
@jppicur8 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I am only commenting based on what is contained in the video and on their website. Yes, oil burning is a west coast thing.

A lot can be said about the Reading 2100 in late ,70,s there was talk that I t was going to be cut up in the old Hagerstown round house I saw it it was in pretty bad shape but they restored it to opperaing condition but for some reason they never ran ONE trip this was disappointing so she should be in rather good shape, NOAW this to bad it should be the 2124 but the fire box is in very poor shape for the park service never gave one dam about Steam Town for there should be one reginial engine running some fans feel,Oh at first the order was for only 20 T,s the last two were added later ooh lets hope Its converted back to coal
