Andrew in Atlanta!!! County (or agency controlling septic) can order the local water provider to cut off water to that house to prevent more septic output. It would bless her to go to a shelter or whatever to consider your kind offers of help. You don't say you're a believer, but your unselfish caring is Christlike to the max. BLESSINGS!!

It’s understandably important to recognize that this neighbor is stressed, broke and above all mentally ill. This is some ocd level issue as they are living in an unfit home and inflicting health risks on neighbors. Compassion should never get in the way of telling someone it’s time to get off the pot, and if they won’t get off or do the hard stuff you need to get social services involved. They need public housing, not to live in filth.

I dated a man for two years then married. He was 11 years older than me. He did the same thing. We never had a joint account. I had my own funds from the sell of my house (400,000.) and wanted us to build a home together. He said I was trying to trick him into a house. We eould grocery shop and he pushed the basket. He would rearrange the items I put in the basket or unload the basket. There's more to it than this. We separated 2 times after 6 months . I divorced him after 2 years and never looked back.

Keeping his wife off of the account is pure abuse and he’s definitely hiding something! How do I know this because I put up with the secrets and the lies for 38 years until I put my foot down. He’s acting like her daddy and not her husband. It’s his way of keeping the power and the control over her because he can! STOP 🛑 him now or let him go live his single life. 8 years is way to long to allow him to treat you with his childish and selfish ways. Uggg

Dave recommending marriage counseling is ridiculous it doesn't work. If she wants to contribute she should go back to work then there will be no problems where the money is going. They should be working towards the same financial goals.
@cynthiawaldorf9353
@cynthiawaldorf9353 18 күн бұрын
@@jsjdhwbsbwbbqListen, I'm sure you're just a troll trying to be a fool. Your first comment proves that. You know nothing about marriage! What being ONE means, in sharing lives together, sharing debt and income together, sharing a home and bed together, sharing children and goals together, Sharing finances and a budget together. Agreeing and communicating about how you want to reach your goals, your dreams, your retirement, raising children,etc. Whether you're working outside the home for an income or raising the children & being a homemaker you're both contributing to building responsible, good, caring lives & home together. Your now ONE, doing DIFFERENT BUT EQUAL responsibilities in your marriage. Its ridiculous to hold anything in a marriage over the head of the other! to be controlling and self centered, whether its income, or children or physical power, etc. Your suppose to be caring and giving your best to each other. Your suppose to care about the heart of the love of your life, right?and their input in the marraige, Working is JUST one aspect of a marraige, like having the responsibility of raising children and running a household. Income has nothing to do with anything other then it being one of many responsibilities You Share as ONE. You still have individual interests, hobbies, etc but are SHARING your life as one also includes learning good communication with each other, which includes both of you having a say in how things work in your marriage and home and finances, continuing to learn to communicate better (which doing a budget with finances helps you learn to communicate better) No longer living JUST for themselves But for each other, caring about each other.. He should care that it bothers her that she feels like a child having to ask for $20 like she's a little teenager talking to daddy, but you knew that, you're just being dumb along with everything else you said proves that. Or you know nothing about marriage or what the data shows supporting what a good happy marriage is, as well as the GOOD advise she was given on this show. I doubt you understand what they are talking about. You're either ACTING like a fool to be a troll Or you believe what you said, which makes you the most pathetic Fool Ive encountered on this show since I'm sure you would disagree if the roles were reversed and the husband had no access to any money or any knowledge of how it was ALL being spent. You'd be ok with him NOT knowing whether any was going into retirement for the both of them to retire well?or whether the bills were being paid ontime without being late? Or if the mortgage was paid or 6 months behind, or whether money was being secretly put away, or spent foolishly, etc etc? But him having no access is ok to you right? Its just reversed in that scenario. Then again, if you think that's OK, you're the fool that I knew you were when I first started this, after reading comments you said like "they should work towards the same financial goals" lol what? when he doesn't give her any access to know what the finances are? Fool ..UUGG!

The husband witholding money from the wife, it's very simple: get yourself anjob, put the kids in daycare or send them to school and that's it. Make your money and he makes his, and split the bills. If not, let him go and put him on child support. I can't stand couples that aren't open to sharing their money. If you're cleaning, cooking, taking care of children, then he should allow you to have some spending money, but that's me. Otherwise, this is why autonomy in relationships is important. It traps you into the relationship, idc what anyone says. Get a job. Simple.

I am subbed to this channel and even have the bell clicked, yet I was prevented from leaving a comment. The message said comments restricted to people subbed for at least 5 minutes. Well I've been subbed for months. Anyone have any answers. I lived in NM and family compounds among the old Hispanic families are common.

I'm curious, Dave. If you preach not to get in debt then why advertise a student loan company? I'm not trying to be confrontational, I'm genuinely curious?

They aren’t advertising students loans. They’re advertising a company that refinances high interest private student loans to help people get out of debt faster.

Could REALLY do without the snarky political remarks in his podcasts. Great info but sometimes really hard to digest due to the delivery and I find my eyes rolling so hard into the back of my head several times each time I listen. I tend not to do that so much with Jade, Rachel and George. I enjoy the show much more when Dave’s not hosting, lol. Just being honest. All in all, great financial advice.

1:02:00 "If you're gonna get into this real estate market, now is a really good time." With prices at all time highs along with mortgage rates, how does Dave figure it's a good time? I'd much rather invest the money and wait for rates and prices to come down.
@brookelondon8029

The all-time high was when it was 18%! Just by the house, and when rates come down, if they do, just refinance. That's Dave's advice.

1:38:30 Dave, there are actually three types of millionaires: Asset Millionaires, Net Worth Millionaires, and Liquid Millionaires. I prefer to consider liquid millionaires for my personal yardstick. What I own (cash, retirement, brokerage) minus what I owe (absolutely nothing). Since I can't liquidate my house quickly for cash, or if I could, I'd need to buy a new house, I don't consider that as part of my "millionaire" status. But that's just me.🤷🏼‍♀️ If you want to disagree with me, I'm totally fine with that. If I were to include my house in my net worth, it's 13% of all my assets.

The upside to your definition is that if you hit liquid millionaire status, you are by default a net worth millionaire. Nothing wrong with setting your personal bar higher. Good for you!

Sometimes you have to take control of the bank accounts because of reckless spending over and over. No regard for future financial security. I'm sure that's the reason he's controlling the accounts. If not, then yes he needs to change some stuff. But, i doubt he doesn't have a reason besides what she mentioned. It doesn't make sense!

Yes, I love the show and both of them but they both do things. They have alot of the same personality. Can you imagine the discussions they have at home lol? He talks over her in getting his thoughts across, and she snubs his words (as he's talking about something hes been teaching for 30 years) being disrespectful with her expressions or sighs. I've seen that alot too on the shows they are together on. They both are learning to work together ❤️ They both are learning to be respectful to each other.

Ok, did I miss something with the first call? Just save up and offer to pay for the neighbor’s septic issue. All the probate and selling their house stuff lost me and sounded like it had nothing to do with the original issue.
@BlakouttheMM
@BlakouttheMM 23 күн бұрын
The place was a dump that is falling apart. The septic is not the only issue, so living there makes no sense. Also, who just gives 10 grand to their neighbor? Especially someone like this who is in a downward spiral. You can't fix other people's lives, especially just by throwing money at them. Dave's answer was correct, offer to help but do so at arm's reach. There is no need to get that financially involved in someone's life that isn't family.

Exactly. And having her sign a paper is not going to mean anything because she's been ignoring her tax bills for the past couple of years. And even if he pays for the lawyer for probate, that doesn't mean she's going to fix up the house. What a mess!
